Tbf to the lad he's had a baptism of fire, Liverpool away, United away whilst we were 1-0 up and under considerable pressure and against one of the best / quickest counter attacking teams in the league

This all day long. Confidence was bound to be down after being thrown into two very tough away games then made a bad start and should probably have been booked for obstruction on vardy but really grew into the game after that. My only criticism of him today was that he wanted to make a pass too quickly when he could have held onto it for a second or two to wait for players to move into space but that will come with time and as his confidence grows.

Not suited for our future squad if we constantly press. Have to keep a high line, he's not suited for it even as a rotation player

Shaky start, but thought he grew into the game well and his aerial presence was evident.

Still got a long way to go but if he continues to increase his confidence and work hard he might make it as a squad player for us.

Cant see it still....looked fine when we were sat deeper as the game went on, but we don't want to sit deep...

Was awful again in the first half, they got the free-kick for their 2nd goal purely because him not dealing with an easy situation.

2nd half was a bit better once he settled and had his team-mates helping him out but overall he just doesn't look Premier League level, not at all. Harsh but that's reality

I like the lad. Common and Unsworth do as well. What we have to bear in mind is it can take lads 15 or 20 games for a young player to fully find their feet. What you want to see is a level of improvement in those games.

For me he wasn't physical enough in the last 2 games. He was much more physical today, won a number of headers and tackles which was impressive. I don't think he's ever going to be first choice, but if he continues to improve and learn can he be a squad man helping us out in European games? For me absolutely.

Anyway I thought he did well today.

He's a defensive throwback, thus far. Looks as comfortable as a bout of piles on the ball, dodgy distribution, but with no qualms about sticking his head in a crowd of feet to clear the ball.

Reminds me of the early days with Jagielka. I reckon he'll come good once he's used to the 40k crowds, and when he can read the play better. He'll make up for his lack of pace with that, in time. Hopefully.

Done better in the second half when his defending was no nonsense.

He should be doing ok at Championship level in the future. Similar to Duffy? Not sure on him but hope he will prove doubter wrong.

Yes it's hard to argue with a lot of that. I think he reads the game well which can help him out.

Made a few mistakes yes but I will take that in a game we go onto win if it helps him learn and develope as a player

What's really impressive is how your keen footballing eyes can spot how he's not good enough after two and a half games. It flies in the face of Koeman and giving him a contract extension.

But what does Ronald Koeman know? I'm with you lads. Flog him right away.
