True but forget about a world beater. Even an avarage baller would do for a start. I know its unfair and he needs time but looks way off the mark. Especially physically. We have very few options there anyway so great chance for koeman to see if he might have a future at everton.

Think he got better towards the end there. Something to build on.

Looked quite solid to me. Great header off a defensive free kick and some good tackles too.

He's average, clearly the 4th choice at the position. Hopefully he'll get better with time.

Thats a fair point mate. He looks much better than at Anfield which is significant. With each game you are looking for young players to get better. He is being more aggressive and winning the ball better. I'm happy with him being 4th choice.

Tbf to the lad he's had a baptism of fire, Liverpool away, United away whilst we were 1-0 up and under considerable pressure and against one of the best / quickest counter attacking teams in the league

He had a nervy first half but was better in the second half. Hopefully he'll get an extended run until the end of the season and see what he's made of. Central defence is a real area for improvement for us, with 2 of our senior players surely into their final season with us.

Finally! On his 7th first team appearance I can see something in Pennington.
He looked v nervous in the tunnel and started that way making his customary mistake that led to a goal.
Put in a couple of strong challenges then and grew as the game progressed. Has a great opportunity now as he'll likely start the next 2. Hopefully he'll continue to grow in confidence.

Had a decent last hour, pleased for him!

A lot of people have jumped on his back so quickly, a bit harsh I think. He made some mistakes, but he has been thrown into some tough games, in a back three which the under 23's don't play so he'll be unfamiliar with.

Koeman and the coaches must see something in him, I hope he gets a run in the team.
