Mirallas: Just turned 28 so will inevitably lose all his pace very soon.

Osman: Crap.

McGeady: Crap

Hibbert: As above

Besic: Crap tattoos

Stones: Judas

Lennon: 30 in 2016

Mori: Vickery said he's rubbish.

January should only be used to sign players who have 6 months left on their contracts who, if you wait till the summer might be snapped up by other teams.

Either that or fringe players you might be able to get for a bargain. Trying to sign any player who is a first choice at their club usually ends up with you over paying.

If you are in trouble, got the cash you sign the cheque.....................Chelsea for one and United will sniff for JS as well

I think we will much larger bids from Chelsea for Stones in January, especially with the way they have been defending this season.

Correct. For me, i think the next 2 windows will really define us going forward though...

We have these chaps out of contract:
Oviedo
Hibbert
Osman
Pienaar
Kone

To be honest not a single one of them should be kept on...so that has to be £150k a week saved on wages alone.

Then we have these guys who are either not good enough or arent adding enough value for their wages or potential transfer fees:
Gibson
McGeady
Howard
Naismith (£8mil?!)
Mirallas (hasnt been in favour?!)

Of these 10 players, only Howard, Naismith and Mirallas would be missed from the squad from a playing point of view.

Yarmolenko / Mirallas
Butland / Howard
Striker / Naismith

I know we dont do much in Jan and we could have 5 players gone next summer BUT we definitely need to sell some deadwood in Jan or have a massive amount of outgoings in the summer.

Yeah but we hardly ever do business in January let alone all that mate!

why on earth would you keep a 38 year old on the books instead of a keeper in his young 20's? we'd end up having to replace howard in a year's time anyway. Robles may still actually be a decent keeper one day - howard is long past it and on a much larger wage.
Robles is not good enough for this league. He is not good enough to have as a permanent starter week in and week out as things stand. He is a calamity goalkeeper and i'm yet to see any evidence that he could actually be decent one day.

God help us the day Robles takes over as the new number 1.

Well if you look at the wages theyre all on and with only 3 from the amended list i just posted then over a season that could amount to several million pounds + paying transfer fees in installments over a contract could mean a £15mil pounds signing.

Doubt you'd get enough to buy 1 player let alone 2 from that list.

Naismith is the only one mentioned worth money, and that's because he's a quality player, and as such we should keep him.

I think soon we will have to start overpaying anyway because the standard of players we are seeing in a lot of positions is so high that new signings will need to be one of the best players at their current club.

Naismith - can probably get some decent money for him and once we have Cleverly and Mirallas back and if we buy another attacking player he won't get much of a look in

Right now, I don't think there's space in the squad for Oviedo, he can't stay fit & when you look at Galloways progression it then puts him behind both him, Baines and Garbutt in the pecking order... I still think the guy is a great player, I just don't think we're the right club for him in this minute of his career as he isn't going to get the minutes staying at Everton, so his wages could be better spent in another position.

The same applies for McGeady.

I might be wrong, but can't Oviedo play right back?

Browning has done well, but we can't be having him as a right back (if Coleman is out) against teams looking to park the bus at Goodison. Maybe we'll see Lennon there in that situation. Who knows, but Oviedo could certainly be useful for us in that respect. Also, Galloway's future lies in the centre.
