The Times talked of Hughes uping the bid to 22 mill, imo still not enough.

I understand what Goat and Azz bot are saying about kicking him out and sympathisizs with that view. However I fully support Moyes on this and the stance he has taken against a club who think they merely have to wave a cheque book. What part of the word "No" did Hughes not understand?

Lescott may as some have opined that he may go on strike or not turn up for training, if that is he wants to play IMO, fine. The club dock his wages but he is still under contract and not playing will hardly help in the World Cup year coming up. It will be another 4 years before he gats another chance.

Of course Lescott is for all intents and purposes apparently desires to leave Everton but I do not think it is to join a better club hardly it is all about wages. If we were able to increase his wages sufficiently like Chelseas did with Terry, do you think Lescott would still want to go. IMO a definite no.

Exactly. We've got nothing to offer him to stay. He sees were poor and arent capitalising on moderate success, when other teams get nowhere but spend loads. That's all he's seeing - if's, but's, maybe's from Citeh, not guarantees. Which is more than us. At Everton it doesnt seem like the board are making an effort to please him.

There can't be many others on a higher wage here though can there?

No, because of the wage cap. Which again leads back to financing and money.

The player wants more and can get more somewhere else. That's the way it is nowdays. We need to move with the times IMO.

Guess we just can't afford it. He was happy enough to sign a four year deal this time last year though.

No one was turning his head then though.

Arle Ian Wright on talksport last night surprisingly enough didnt like it, even though his son plays for Citeh. He said his signed a contract extension, everything was rosey, the fans backed him in the Malaga game, he looked like he enjoyed being at Everton. The Citeh come along and turn his head with money. This is from a bloke who said Everton were in the past the most racist club in the country...and he wasnt a fan of the Citeh were going about.

Might be down to Citeh's "ambition" but a big factor would be the 90k as standard that any new player at Citeh get when they sign up.

Is that what they call them nowdays?

Let's say he stays with us as Moyes really can't afford to lose a first choice centre back right now, and City lose interest. Do you really think anyone else will be interested in him? I can't think of a bigger club than us who would need him.

Read the story. As arrogant as Manc are, this would be unbelievable arrogance, a very wrong assumption on their part, and something designed to not Cott their man.

I don't believe it anyway. Mirror rubbish. As much as I hate citeh, they are above this.
