I'm reading elsewhere that Cahill gave a post match interview last night and he said the rest of the Everton players understand and are supportive of Lescott's position. Doesn't sound great, tbh.

Well who really wants him here now apart from Moyes?

I say we sell, his career at Everton is over.

It was over as soon as that transfer request went in. Because of that I dont see what hand Everton have to play here now. Time moves on and this needs to be settled asap.

Moyes is being pathetic to be fair. He knows we have no money, he knows City want Lescott, he knows Lescott wants to leave, he knows we need to make signings.

Is he holding out to make a point? Sounds very stubborn to me.

Liverpool Echo.co.uk - Everton FC - News - Tim Cahill: Joleon Lescott is a model pro - Everton FC latest

“It’s a catch 22 for the lad,” Cahill said. “Sometimes there are once in a lifetime bids and it’s astronomical money.
“But he is such a great professional and I know at the weekend he will give everything. It’s very hard for footballers these days to be put in such a difficult position.
“He’s a big player for Everton and England. If he goes, he goes, if he stays, he stays. But whatever decision he makes, I’ll support him.
“We make decisions for our families and the one thing about Joleon is that he is a great professional.

So will his family go hungry on Everton's wages??

I think he knows replacing Lescott this near the season is impossible and that results will suffer.

I understand Lescott's want to leave but he sure could have left his request earlier. Now it looks like he wanted to milk it to the last drop (i.e. to get his slice of the transfer money).

Well Ian Wright the plank said last night on TS that if someone has £10 they spend it, if they had £100 they spend it. Footballers are on the same comparative level as us, and they shouldn't feel guilty about what they earn.

Its crap. and do you know what Cahill has gone down in my estimates for saying that too. Absolute crap.

The players are simply worried that if they get into the same position the club might do the same thing. Currently it does not look like Everton will compete for the title during their career so if, say, Cahill was approached by a club that will and thinks it would be nice to win something before retiring, so, well, who could blame him for wanting the move?

Cant have it both ways, cant appluad of wonderful team spirit and then expect team mates to [Poor language removed] on each other.

Cahill is just coming out in support of his team mate, while it might not be the best thing to say, at least it shows the other players realise what hes doing.

Surely everybody realises that he can at least double his wages, its a lot to ask him to stay. I might be angry, but I can see why hes doing it, doesnt mean I wont boo his every touch on Saturday.

Too true. Interesting that he put a writen one in while he's away. So he must have wrote it before he went to Holland. Shithouse didnt wanna be around for the backlash. Shame really cos I think he'll get it anyway this w/end and from Moysey when he reports back. He'll deserve every bit of it and rightly so. Get shut now I say. His time here is over.
