Can we catch Villa?

villa are fallin apart
that luck they rode for most of the year is but a distant memory . That combined with us figuring out how to play football without arteta makes it a real possibilty

How many have villa gone without a win? (5 or 6 )

I'm with Chico.

I still can't see it either.

When we catch them, everyone feel free to bump this thread and say "Can you see it now?"

If they fall tomorrow I'll be a believer we can do it. But with nine to go it is going to be very tricky. I like everyones positive attitude. Unfortunately, I've become to much of a realist in this day and time I will be thrilled with our injuries to be a solid sixth and Europe bound next year.

We'll catch Villa, but Arsenal have just found their next gear, so they're looking good for 4th with Fabregas due back in the next week or so on top of Eduardo & Walcott returning and Arshavin having an absolute blinder last night.

Villa's next 4 matches;

Spurs (H), Liverpool (A), Man Utd (A), Everton (H), West Ham (H).

Then 3 of their last 4 are against teams fighting for survival - not to be taken lightly.

Basically, they're screwed and will finish 6th behind Arsenal with us closely behind, fingers crossed for a little luck we're surely due though, 4th isn't in our hands, but given our recent form, self belief and a favourable run-in, it isn't beyond the realms of possibility either.

Arsenal have yet to play Man Utd, Chelsea and Liverpool. They're also still capable of ballsing it up against lower ranked teams. So I wouldn't totally write off our chances of catching them.

A couple of weeks ago, I was pretty sure that we couldn't. But Villa have gone off the boil a little, and a couple more bad results for them could see them collapse. So it's possible, although I think they'll just about hold on. I also think Arsenal will push on now. Influential players are coming back now. So even if we do push past Villa, I don't really think we'll get into the CL. But you never know. :huh:

In fairness though, they have been amazingly lucky this year any time i saw them, has to be said both times weve played them tis season weve played them of the park.

somewhere earlier in this thread i said out of villa's next 4 games spurs will be the only one they win. liverpool next week and utd after that while the same weeks we play pompey and wigan. if they get beat today we could be above them by the time we go down there. arsenal looked solid yesterday, walcott is unplayable. but reckon we'll defo do villa for 5th again. maybe they should start calling it the big 5, seeing as though we've finished in it 3 out of the last 5 seasons (shame we finished 6th in 07)

by the time we play them it could be a case of uefa is guaranteed and 5th , 6th ,7th will get places. if this is the case then we will have an eye on the semi for sure.
i personally would like us to go there and give o'neill a good dry bumming as a prelude to spit roasting u****ed underneath that splendid arch.
there'a way to go nev, hung with a 70's style scarf from the wembley arch.
