Tim Howard - new contract

Amen to that. If Fox's coverage weren't bad enough, the comparison between Rebecca Lowe and co vs. Wynalda and and yammering lids is the rough equivalent of EFC playing my high school's JV team. I abhor the Fox studio team. Never mind the couple shots I've heard them take at Everton... or at Man U referencing them playing like Everton.

Warren Barton...massive tit
It is so stark the difference this year isn't it? Especially when you enjoy a Weekend of NBCs excellent coverage then switch over to watch fox discuss the CL & EL. Like choosing between the Starks and the Lannisters but at least the Lannister's can be competent.

Ah well, at least we get it broadcast now, for several years it was like football didn't exist other than gridiron.

FFs!

Not good news in my opinion, he's had a good season, fair play, but just when you think he might be ungash he does a Palace!

Sort it Bobbie!

What is doing a Palace? because you can blame him for the loss.

The only thing Bobbie had to sort as far as Howard goes has just been sorted with the contract extension.

Does he have a bonus in this new contract for every kick he keeps on the field and within 10yds of a blue?

I kid. Good keeper, really hoped we'd do what the RS did and replace a good enough keeper with a top level keeper.

It's late... not reading 4 pages - Tim Howard, new contract - ABSOLUTELY... top man - Westie excepted of course :-)

Strange considering, as has been mentioned, he'll be 39 in 2018. Yeah he's had a good season this year, but was pretty ordinary in a couple seasons prior...

Think of it this way. As long as he keeps up form as good as his down year last year, he'll be worth something to American clubs, which is where he'll end up eventually. I see this more as protecting him for the next two years, and making sure we don't let him go for free rather than committing to his late late 30s.

This is exactly why it is a good deal. The MLS is paying a premium for US INTERNATIONALS. With it being a World Cup year I think this allows Everton to get something for him if an offer came in. He looks in great shape so I don't think he will slow. Keller and Freidel both played into their 40's at a high level. I think he is sold in 2 years back to the MLS and we get a little something for him.

Class keeper and very happy he got the new contract. His age is not a worry.
Keepers get wiser with experience as they get older so as long as he is physically fit there is no problem at all.
