Tim Howard - new contract

People complaining should calm down. He's had a great season, arguably his best with us. He shows no signs of faltering in the immediate future. That said, he won't be here four years. Tim Howard is arguably the most famous American player in the States not named Donovan or Dempsey. He's a big star over here, and an MLS club will come in with big money for him in the next 2-3 years. This is shrewd, IMO.

Good stuff. He's been wonderful this season.

Don't see the problem with 4 more years, either. He's a keeper. Plus he just might be the most supremely fit and athletic keeper in the league.

Good news, he's been as solid - if not more - than ever this year. Seems to command his area much better now; definitely not his fault about all the set-piece goals we've conceded.

That David Marshall, as we saw at Goodison earlier in the season, is a really good keeper, especially a shot-stopper. I think he'd push Tim close for a first team spot if we could sign him when Cardiff go down.

I know he didnt have a lot to do today, but another clean sheet for Howard, im sure he is on for some kind of clean sheet record now?

just watched this : interesting to get a small glimpse of what our goalkeeping coach did at Wigan, maybe him coming here helped improve Tim?

Good of Tim to let us know - we've now got 4 seasons to plan on getting his replacement in.

What a top player he's been for us though. I know he's made errors at times but overall he's been one of the best goalies during this era. We'll have had 13 seasons out of him at Everton by the time he retires. Great servant to the club & a real good character, credit to his profession. Top pro.

If Martinez is still here mate i can see him either going straight into the Coaching set-up or some new role being created for him to raise our profile in the states long term

He's been quoted as saying he's going to be on a beach somewhere and he has other plans for his life outside football so I don't think so.
