Lukaku

Why do some people have to find something every game to be over the top about?

Ossie has to be benched! Jelavic has to be benched too with Ossie sitting on top of him so he can't come on, or else West Ham will kick our faces in 12-0!!!

Martinez wouldn't be the first manager to stick with a former regular player even when seemingly out of form, and he wont be the last. I am sure once Lukaku gets a run out though Jelavic will be out soon after with Kone ahead in the pecking order. So he either responds and starts scoring or he is done most likely.

The whole fanbase let out a collective groan when Naismith the Giant Killer was picked last week and that turned out pretty okay. He may very well stick with Jelly, and we should still be able to beat West Ham whether Lukaku comes off the bench or not.
Because forums make you polarise your opinions. You either love or hate and nothing in between.

Moyes said the same things though, it's all just PR bullsh*t. In reality he's just a very, very poor option up front.

When phrases like "works hard for the team" and "holds the ball up to bring others into play" start coming thick & fast it's just a cover for the fact that a player is absolutely hopeless in front of goal, same things were being said about Yakubu when he couldn't hit a barn door here.

Exactly.. They used to say the same thing about Heskey and how many goals did he used ot chip in with?

Not what we need at the minute.. We need someone to get us goals, which Jela isnt doing

Roberto won't dither over making a decision, that is for certain. Neither will he send us out to draw the game either, imo opinion starting Lukaku will be a statement of going for the jugular.

The days of starting with him on the bench and then on 70 minutes taking off the striker and bringing another defender to keep hold of the point we're on the way to are truly well and gone lads.

By the end of the month Nigel Benn will be sending him his arl boxing robe cos he's gonna smash everyone to pieces.

...amazing how many media pundits are saying Chelsea have sent their best striker on loan to us, but I heard a dissenting voice on the radio this morning. Tony Cascarino said Lukaku was out on loan because he's not good enough at the moment for a top premier side.

Tony Cascarino on talksport this morning. Doesnt think Lukaku is good enough for Chelsea and they should buy Benteke in the winter - should have got him in the summer.

He doesnt see Lukaku as a forward for a team that wants to and is capable of winning the PL and CL - for at least a few years...said i think he would do well for a mid table to lower 6 side...

I listened to that interview too. He did say that but what you're missing is he said "yet". He said he isn't good enough yet but will be in a couple of years if he carries on the way he is.

Scored more league goals last season than any other chelsea striker despite starting half the games on the bench.

to be fair to him, he doesn't play football manager and therefore hasn't seen lukaku score 44 goals in one season for the 3 time champions league winners everton in 2018 (yes, i was that manager!)
