well first off , im all for a good debate and for reading all sides of the argument. but the toffeweb site is so so biased its unbeleivable.
regardless of there views , the site has become nothing more than an anti kirkby propaganda campaign .
a good website would not tie itself to the mast of a cause so much.
a good website would let 'all' information be available to its loggers so they can make a decision on there own.
the way the site is so biased means i have to ask myself "why do they not print both sides equaly ? is there case so thin that they dont think readers will choose there side unless they bombard them with only the negatives ?"

so shame on you toffeweb . i respect your opinion but dont agree with the way you push it on everyone.

This is what I was trying to say but wasn't able to put into words properly at 4 in the morning. Sorry if I insulted you Coyney but I wasn't trying to tell anyone what an Evertonian was and don't want it to be taken that way. What I said about fan mail is because it's some of the same people giving out about the board today who moan about Moyes or the players earlier in the year and all they ever seem to come out with is negatives and complaining whatever the situation. I don't know why I still sometimes read their articles but to give them their dues it is a well set up website and mainly go praying for transfer news at the moment. I know all or most fan mail is put up but it only seems to be a certain views that get into the features section. Maybe I'm also overreacting as well.

Not for a long while i would imagine as there is going to major bitterness regardless of what decision is made. The no voters are bitter at losing the vote and believing they know best (they dont) and if it goes the other way, yes voters will be bitter that these Magoo type fans have wrecked Evertons greatest chance of moving forward

I would have voted no if I'd had a vote because I don't believe it's necessarily the best for the club. I'm also sure those who voted yes firmly believe it's the best for the club. And yes, I read most of the initial exchanges on TW before and after the vote and there was (and obviously still is) a lot of bad feeling. I stopped going on toffeeweb for this reason. I don't think most of the people on GOT want that vibe on here. Having said that I can only speak for myself when I say I resent the Magoo type fans comment. Everyone's entitled to their opinions and the thing I like about this site is people who disagree with mine do so with respect. I personally think you're lacking in that department.

For my sins I go to the Toffeeweb site fairly regularly. This may be because I am anti Kirkby.
However I also take into account the pack of lies that were fed to the fans immediately before the vote. There was talk of 50,000 fans turning up at games and how this would increase revenue. I have to confess to stealing this fact from Toffeeweb. When we were winning all sorts from 1985 onwards our average gate was still around the 37,000 mark. Where are the extra 13,000 fans going to suddenly appear from ? Kirkby ? Surely everybody remotely interested in EFC already goes to the games.
Then there was the speech from Leahy, the day before the vote I believe. He is not interested in Everton Football Club, season ticket holder or not. He is doing his very best for Tesco, like it or not.
The spin emanating from Wyness` mouth pre vote was mind blowing. Almost embarrassing. Most of which has turned out to be untrue.
So I make no apology for going to Toffeeweb even though it clearly upsets some of the folks on this forum. There is stuff on here not on Toffeeweb and vice versa. I am just plain mad about Everton Football Club and old enough to know better !

Good point mate this is the most polite forum I have ever been on .as you say we all think we know best I am totaly against the move but hope I show enough respect to those who voted yes and agree it would be a shame if this deterioated to the level of some posts on toffeeweb and Kipper that said they too have their good points.

As a supporter of over 36 years I can not see one valid or even reasonable argument to support a move to Kirkby which would be in the long term interests of EFC. If I was a shareholder I would be banging the door down for this EGM. Though I am sure Wyness and co will have been expecting this call and will already have their answers well thought out. It must now surely be obvious to all Evertonians that the only ones who will benefit from this proposed move are the five main shareholders, BK being the principal.
I see that the club have now accumilated almost £60M of debt ( treble that of 7 / 8 years ago ) and will take on another £78M at least ( god only knows how much more than that ) if this mad cap idea proceeds. A nice legacy to be left with no ? I can see Kenwright talking into his dictaphone composing his heartfelt regret about being the Evertonian who killed EFC and how he was powerless to stop it happening, sob sob.......
The GONW have asked for more time to evaluate the scheme, FFS, what a joke, more time for the Tesco whips to do their dirty work. No more time was needed to judge this project, it already broke every planning rule in the book and should have been straight of their desk winging its way to Westminster.

*uck yes, Ive been very wary since this whole project raised its ugly head and everything ive learned since just makes me sick to the stomach and yes, very nervous infact totally *hitting myself that this thing might go ahead.
All the blatant lies, deceit and misinformation which has come from the club I find bewildering. The club ive supported since I was 6 dont give a flying *uck about me ( or you / us or the REAL future of the club ) All they seem concerned about is offloading asap, what has become an incumbence to them and to get as much money out of it as possible. Whatever BKs original motives were when he gained control, have changed dramatically ( haha ) since.
So yes, this Everton supporter is very worried and very nervous !

what if the kirkby deal goes ahead and it turns out our increase in revenue isnt worth much ?

this is a valid point.if our debts go up then surely any increased revenue will be guzzled by this debt.thus making the stadium pointless , as financially we wont be any more able to compete with the top 4.
also , yes ,potential investers wlll not have to worry about a new stadium build.but they will have to buy a club with a hell of a lot more debt.
so will it help attract a new invester ? ......it will increase our chances than not having a new stadium but ultimatly no , i dont think it will attract new investers.

what if the cheapest option to us 'kirkby' fails , what then ?

this will then be make or break time for everton.
we would have to find potentially 3 times as much money ourselves to build.this would imply a sugar daddy steps forward with 120 million spare cash , or we win everything we enter for the next 2 years.or we sell our whole squad and then some.
no stadium ,no future ,no fans ,no money, no everton fc.


ps : can anyone point me in the right direction of any information regarding why goodison cant be redeveloped ?
i just cant see why we cant have a stand at a time 'spruced up' at the very least to give us a few extra years.
the kirkby stadium looks like 4 seperate bike sheds , so why cant this be built in 4 stages at goodison ?

You honestly think he would ruin the club on purpose? The answer is of course NO. He also did something which no other club has done and thats give the fans a vote on such an issue. Maybe he will sell when we move and maybe we wont, i dont even know where that story came from although i suspect it might have the initials TW. Bill bought the club when no-one else wanted it and we were being run into the ground by the kopite from over the water.
He since took the club forward in a big way, hiring the Moyesiah, smashing the clubs transfer record 3 times and being in control of the club in our most consistent period since the 80s. Halewood I really admire your trust in Bill and as far asI know no one questions the fact that he is a Everton fan but even you must concede he has misled the fans at the very least The Granada farce,fortress fund,Kirkby free stadium this is why I dont trust him any more when he took over I was happy for him as its every ones dream to do it .But he should be honest with the fans I cringed when all the kopites where pissing themselves with cracks about the fortress and after the big IM searching 24/7 for investment after agreeing with Tesco there would be no change in club shares while negotiations with them were ongoing its in tescos report.If he has not got money you cant hold that against him but lying to us means when rumours and [Poor language removed] come out we are never 100% sure.Im just glad the cowboys have taken the shyte to the wall.

HB, Has it ever crossed your mind WHY BK gave the fans the vote ? I may be a complete cynic but I would imagine that it has abrogated him of any responsibility. Apart from that the fans were fed a pack of lies prior to the vote and only now is the whole truth coming out.
For World Class Stadium read mid range stadium.
For "Deal of the century" read it will cost Everton Football Club £78m.
For transport links read "No transport links"
I do not for one moment believe that BK is trying to ruin Everton Football Club but I have to wonder what he is trying to do to our club.
