As one Fernandes's ardent supporters, I would have to say that based on the whole body of work this year, Arteta has had a much better season than Fernandes.

I never said best player currently in form. He is quite clearly our best player who is having a off season due to injury which looks to be sorted now after his surgery. As for MF doing more than Arteta, then thats just stupid

If the Arsenal really do want him, then we can sting them on the transfer fee. I love Arteta, but he is replaceable. It's all about improving the squad and to do this we sometimes need to sell players at top price and bring in quality at below top price (Pienaar, Arteta, Cahill spring to mind).

I trust Moyes to do a bit of shrewd business this summer. I don't think any of our squad are untouchable at the right price.

I absolutely agree.

I'd hate to lose any of them considering our depth issues over the past few years along with playing in multiple competitions but if someone is willing to pay more than the player might be realistically worth (and who knows what a player's worth these days), then we'd have to consider parting ways with a player if it means we could continue to build up and improve the squad.

If we are building a squad why would we want to take a backward step
( IMO ) by selling him ? He has been one of our most influential players for two seasons. Also, why should we accept the argument that we should get try to get as much as we could squeeze out of them for him, do you mean like the great bit of business Kenwright did with Rooney and Man U. There may be alot a lot of speculation going around this summer regarding a few of our players and these are the ones we should be keeping not selling. I fear we might at best, tread water next season otherwise. We need to off load some, but not our stars !

I bet you said that about graveson before we sold him to Real. An the we brought in arteta...who?? Same can happen. If he go's, so what. moyes always do's his homework, he probably has two better player ready to step in.

forget the £10 million tag, if he does go then 10 mill will be nowhere near the pricetag, the voyeur knows that just as much as we do, if he comes in with that much then he knows full well that other clubs are going to top it and he wont want to get into a bidding war, IF he makes a bid he'll be realistic to try to seal a deal without any other clubs getting involved, he also knows how important he has been to us and will have to be replaced, he is very shrewd but knows we aren't mugs, he watches everything ....that is why he is THE VOYEUR (as well as the sneaking into jose's bedroom thing)

Gravesen was good for a whole six months whereas Arteta has been good for the majoirty of his time hear. There's a big difference.

Has Moyes replaced the Gravesen of 04/05? I don't think he has and Arteta certainly wasn't his direct replacement. Arteta was quickly moved out to the wing.

I doubt we get a player in better than Arteta. There's aren't many player out there better than Arteta who would realistically join us. He's one of the best midfielders outside the "top four" if not the best.

Well according to Rafael, Gareth Barry is only worth 10M. Unfortunately we'll need to chip in another 5M to get a player who can't beat out Kuyt for a starting place.
