Arsenal: £10m for Arteta

I think its good that where one of the few teams in the League who can change formations. Where masters on the 4-5-1 and have definatly improved our performances in a 4-4-2.

Alot of teams and especially outside the top four go with a regular 4-4-2 and it gets them nowhere.

Personally I have took a liking to the 4-5-1. Its alot more than a 4-5-1. It can change from 4-5-1, 4-4-2, 4-2-3-1, 4-3-3, 4-4-1-1 etc. Its very fluid and players are capable of interchangine and giving opposition teams something else to think about.

In a 4-4-2 alot of your flair players have defensive duties which limits them. There's alot more freedom in a 4-5-1 and I think it shows we we play. the likes of Cahill, Arteta, Pienaar, Fernandes, Carsley and Osman all revel in it.

In the 4-4-2, we will need two quality wingers. We already have Pienar so we just need to get in a quality winger on the other side.

And in the middle a partnership of Arteta and Neville wouldn't be that shabby now would it? Of course that is if Arteta stays ...

Neville? He's a right back and nothing else.

i used to want to go for 4-4-2 eventhough we know 4-5-1 gave us more success. as someon has pointed out most teams outside top 4 play 4-4-2 and gets tham nowhere. then iused to think ok, 4-4-2 at home, 4-5-1 away, but if this season has shown anything 4-5-1 is a must now, its what makes us better than the rest and able to move on in europe too. With the foramtion i said earlier, 2 wingers in that midfield and one up front, then goals can come from everywhere, and not so much pressure has to be put on the striker, and if we cant afford those players then flog yakubu to boost up the kitty!:o
