I agree that I think the club could do an awful lot more in the commercial sense to increase income into the club, although I think that's probably not something that most people complain about. People complain that Kenright isn't putting millions in himself.
The sale and leaseback policy that we've employed is quite a common one. Indeed it's quite a common sense one. The whole concept of outsourcing runs on the notion that companies should focus on what they do best, and outsource other things to companies for whom that issue is a speciality. We're not a property company, we're not a retailing company, we're a football company. Doesn't it therefore make sense to outsource our property and retailing, freeing up assets to spend on football, what we're all here for?
I'm not sure on the lies you talk of. I don't follow everything he says but if he has mentioned his intention to sell but has turned down a few bids that doesn't mean he's leading us on does it? Think back to those jokers that strung us on for months. These kind of deals aren't easy to find or conclude. The vast majority of mergers and takeovers fail so I don't blame Bill for being cautious to find the right bidder.
Personally speaking I'd like to follow the lead of clubs like Man Utd, Arsenal, Barcelona etc. that are basically self sufficient. They have plenty of money to spend not because of wealthy backers but because they're good businesses that generate a lot of cash. I don't think we do enough commercially but that buck probably stops at Wyness rather than Kenright.
