That is a strange one. You’d think he’d be absolutely desperate to qualify and prove that it wasn’t a one off. We are just completely limping over the line with our foot off the gas. Plus the last two team selections in particular have been dreadful.

Put that together with the whole 12 years since years Moyes left and it doesn't look good. We all know Moyes is a far better manager than Martinez as well.

Martinez did win a proper trophy and managed to equal Moyes’s points haul in his first season and played much better football to watch

I didn't say he is an abysmal manager. He's a good manager. But his cup record here is rubbish over 2 spells.

We lost multiple times to lower league opposition and 1 final in all that time is really not impressive at all. Shrewsbury, Oldham, Reading, Wigan games just a few that come into my head.

I have just never thought that cup games are a priority for Moyes.
