2025/26 David Moyes

Could have played whatever tactics to Barry today and he'd have been garbage. If a player doesn't look interested then there's not much you can do.
You can sit him and use your HUGE FOOTBALLING BRAIN to figure out how to use Alcarez, Nidye, KDH, George and Dibling to put some pressure on a slow VVD and a concussed Kanate with smaller players running around them...

Im repeating myself but start of the season I said:

12th-14th is fine if he develops the players.

If not then 8th.

Finish 8th or better and i'm fine to give him another season.

Something needs to be done about the clear mismanagement of young players though.

I could list them all down but we all know they are and its a disgrace how hes treated them.

Problem is Moyes will never have signings dictated to him. So we are stuck.
I really like your post. I think it’s very fair and a reasonable measuring stick. But it’s a mixed bag of results so far. Sitting at 10th and improved. But also not developing players. Not taking risks or being creative. It’s why the fan base feels sort of meh. It’s because we know we’re better than our record and aren’t as limited as we show given the manager and his own traits. That’s why I’m in support of keeping him and being fair by giving a summer window to him free and clear of PSR.

If you get Europe means justly the ends
Not playing kids as get game time in Europe

If we come 12th and no Europe Moyes has squadded a year of development for Aznou, Dibling, Rohl

Yet played McNeil and gana (though good did he have to play every minute)

Be amazed if we make europe now

I'm all for us going and getting a world class manager and building a brilliant squad like Villa have. Is that going to happen though?
We've got money to spend, this isn't Kenwrights Everton no more.

Villa where a absolute state under Gerrard, let's stop with this revisionism that they where already world beaters, Emery come in and took them to levels they could only dream of.

None of whom have experience of playing up front in the Premier League, let alone a Merseyside Derby. I wonder how that would have gone down on the forum.

Villa had a very good team under Gerrard that he was managing extremely badly. They spent a fortune to get it as well.

I would think any owner of a company wants money, success, and glory in all things. I can’t imagine they don’t want to win the league every year.

Moyes was the right choice and the record shows it. No owner wants mid-table stability. Mediocrity is better than relegation fodder. Doing better brought Grealish. Finishing 10th or higher makes us attractive in the summer.

Keep up that cycle and eventually we’ll be the club that top managers want to lead. We’re not there yet. So as an owner I’d keep Moyes and support him.

They’re looking at it from 30,000 feet and long-term. We’re pissed because of today’s loss and substitutions.

The ship is turning and honestly quicker than most people care to acknowledge or give credit for. I’d rather have consistent management and improvement than inject tons of money and get flashy managers only to flame out hard like Forest and Spurs.
I had to look who posted this...thought it was a White House press briefing:))

Moyes came in and improved us immediately. That improvement has continued this season which is why he should (and probably will) stay for at least another season. The improvement needs to continue though season on season, any sign of stagnation or regression would be the red flag for the Friedkins.

The only way I’d make a change is if a world class manager like Carlo became available and wanted to come here and I don’t see that this summer.

Because he's a coward?

Or because he wants to throw them on without getting them up to speed with regular games.

One manager wanted to win today.

Another David Moyes derby performance.

Weve seen this all before.

How the heck Gana stayed on when he was dead on his feet for 15mins is beyond me

How was McNeil still on?

Where was Moyes fave Merlin Rohl who weve now spent £18mil on?

If only George had come on at half time to link with Beto.

If only Iroegbunam had come on for Gana

If only our manager was proactive.
What utter bollocks...We wanted to win that from the off.

It's not his fault Beto went off injured and the entire match changed because Barry is pants and George did nothing.

Iroegbunam coming in for Gana doesn't win us the match or stop us conceding a header from VVD off of a corner....

Pure nonsense
