January Transfer Window 2026

The thing is about this Harry Wilson

What is Moyes plans with Armstrong, Rohl and Irebunham who i think are all better

we should be focusing on right backs and left backs as we dont have any.

Also wingers as we have 1 Ndiaye and Dibling is not ready
Wilson (if there's any truth in it) would be a McNeil replacement - can play on the right or as a number 10

Wouldn't impact Armstrong, Rohl or Iroegbunam

Dibling has had one league game so far where he played 90 minutes, even when he has started games he's been subbed at half time twice, he's behind Ndiaye, but even when Ndiaye doesn't play, he's behind Dwight McNeil, even Alcaraz has played RW ahead of Dibling. The manager either doesn't trust him or doesn't think he is ready.

Ndiaye being at AFCON should have been his chance to make that RW position his, but he's been in and out the team and the last 3 league games, he got hooked at half time against Brentford and was on the bench against Wolves and Villa and didnt get on, despite us struggling for numbers

He's 19 and he's been at the club a few months.

It may well not work out, but we won't know that yet. To say Moyes doesn't want him is just over the top

I'll be honest with you Gillie, Moyes is damaged goods for me. Short of winning a pot I can't see how he'd win me over. I admit it, I'm not especially objective with him at this point. I realise he's an alright manager but he does my head in, he did my head in at the back end of his last tenure here (before all of the Man Utd sneakiness) and I find him even more irritating now. He's just not a winner and the way he constantly talks us down grates me enormously. However, if we actually tried playing some of our fringe players, in their actual positions, even if it meant we lost some supposedly winnable games, my estimation of him would go up. Let's be frank, we're losing "winnable" games anyway, we might as well learn something in the process rather than just run the same 13 players into the ground.

Im not going to deep into the Moyes thing. I feel like ive been doing this for 20 years. He's an alright manager is where ive always been. But there needs to be a balance as well. Truth is lots of people on this forum regarding winnable games already had Brentford and Wolves marked at 6 points banked before we even played them. When it didnt happen they hit the roof criticising the manager. They were winnable but thats all they were. Look around. Nobody including teams above us were finding games against them easy. But Everton were supposed to just wipe the floor with them. Its a form of arrogance and entitlement to just think we should just win.
Its been done to death this. Everyone wants to win and win playing good football. No point denying that as you only have to read posts on here and even games we've won there is criticism in the style we won it.
Well it seems to me you need to get very lucky in the transfer market and buy a few gems or you spend an absolute fortune. Chelsea have spent 1 billion on players. They're sitting 2 points above Everton and nowhere near the title.
I think Everton need to go a different direction to Moyes as if you dont buy a ticket and all that. But im not so quick to turn my nose up at him either as i look around this league and realise there are far from gimmes in this league.

Personally I think Dibling would be fine if he was chucked into the team now, get a few games under his belt, if Moyes told him he’s starting for the next 6 games with no pressure on him then I think he’d be ok. Obviously when results don’t go our way or he has a quiet game the Everton Da’s will crucify him but it must be tough for a young lad either starting a game or coming on as a sub knowing if he doesn’t put in a MoM performance he’s back on the bench next week. Give him a run of games.

Most of them are too busy moaning about the new stadium and the transport/food/tickets and saying how they are not signing up again for next season so hopefully we might be able to get rid of a few of them and a few of the happy clappers at the same time.

Fullbacks is a top priority i agree.
Im not sure you can put irebunham and rohl as better than wilson. There isnt any real proof of that yet.
Wilson is the type of player for me Everton should always target when in the market. He's technically sound. His attitude everytime i see him play is spot on. Knows how to chip in with a goal or two.
A bit like tavernier at Bournemouth.
If you buy technically good players with good attitudes you're ticking the right boxes straight away. Very much like dewsbury hall.
