January Transfer Window 2026

Be a good move wilson but still think the club needs actual pace something different to what we have.problem we have is alot of similar players esp out wide
I think the lack of pace is a chronic issue. But if you look at Moyes' managerial career from when he first came to us onwards, he has only ever signed a handful of quick players. He's bothered about it less than virtually any other manager.

Personally I think Dibling would be fine if he was chucked into the team now, get a few games under his belt, if Moyes told him he’s starting for the next 6 games with no pressure on him then I think he’d be ok. Obviously when results don’t go our way or he has a quiet game the Everton Da’s will crucify him but it must be tough for a young lad either starting a game or coming on as a sub knowing if he doesn’t put in a MoM performance he’s back on the bench next week. Give him a run of gaI really hope Dibling turns out

I think Moyes always looks for technical players, and he’ll prioritise this over pace. The issue is at the level we’re buying at, the players with real technique don’t have much centuries they’d be at a top club. That’s why we could get the likes of Pienaar Arteta Ndiaye Grealish. If they had that extra yard they’d have been unbelievable players.

It means that we often have teams that can outplay weaker teams which is what we saw in his first spell, but by the same token they struggle away at top sides because of the lack of pace to hit teams on the counter.

True but does like the fb to provide width and well dont have that aswell. This window just looks like be a last day rush try get loans in. Is so frustrating having to wait and grealish out injured

I really hope Dibling turns out to be a good player for us but lets be honest he is never a 42m pound player. I think also his transfer fee has put a lot of pressure on the lad, that money could and should have been better spent than it was.
100% but he is also being chronically overrated by some on here which is not helping either. Folks need to just leave him alone and let him do his thing, if he comes good then great, if he doesn't then well that's football, not every signing works out as we well know.

I hate the transfer window, we go into it full of hope for bringing in better players, we get linked with every player out there and we end up with the likes of Beto.
We need a right back who can overlap and a centre forward who knows where the net is, we have needed this for a while. A blind man on a galloping horse can see we need these positions filled. Our transfer policy seems to be identifying the gaps in the squad and then ignore them.
Just buy a centre forward and a right back, they don’t have to be world beaters, they just need to be good, that would be a significant improvement.

With Branthwaite coming back, Gana and Ndiaye returned from AFCON, Rohl and Aznou now getting some minutes and Dibling as a replacement for Grealish, I’d be happy to see Beto out, a striker in and of course the mythical RB come in.

2 bits of incoming businesses to give us a chance of pushing in for Europe.

I know a lot of people want to see Mykolenko replaced, but I don’t think that’s imperative to us being able to push on as he’s part of a solid enough back 4 as it stands.

tbf I don't think anyone is expecting that.

He done ok against Burnley, kept his place. Had his best game (not amazing but a proper graft performance 2nd half) against Forest and kept his place.

Turned in a dreadful 1st half against Brentford, was subbed and no surprise he lost his place against Wolves. Got picked again against Sunderland and again was dreadful so it was inevitable he would lose his spot again against Villa.

He literally just has to show the kind of solid yet unspectacular performance he put in against Forest and he'd probably be a starter. But when he puts in 1st half performances like he did against Brentford, he can't be complaining when he's not getting selected.

Every game theres pressure, we all want him to come good, but he has to be showing it too and so far this season we've seen 1 decent ball across to Beto against Burnley and a couple of dribbles.

I agree with this but it shows the double standards of the manager. Several players were awful that game.
Mcneil stinks the gaff out most weeks without putting in those solid unspectacular performances you mention.
Mcneil will play most games regardless of previous performance.

I've questioned the dibling signing since the start, he just never seemed to have the attributes we needed on the wing despite some good appearances last season. But hes also more likely to get better by playing, than mcneil.

He's also harshly punished (taken off at the half) for small mistakes that others get away with.
Can't instill a lot if confidence in him to go out and play when he knows that if he puts in a bad cross he won't play again for weeks.

I agree that if he was given a run of games, preferably with an actual right back behind him, he would be fine.
