I think he will get money but see recruitment being issue and a source of confrontation.

The perfect player for Moyes, is 27-31. For the administration and other members of the recruitment team they are planning for the next five to ten years.

The difficulty is this - Moyes want Soucek, he rings him, says yes I’ll come but want a three year deal on, 100k +. Moyes wants it - he goes to the club and club says no, no resale value and you have an 18 month contract - if we bring another manager in 18 months or less - then they are stuck with 30+ Soucek for a year and half in big money. The club then brings him someone like Rohl - who fit the profile he wants but also the club criteria.

I think that above dynamic comes to a head at some point - I think we see it Rohl, Aznou, Charly, Dibling not getting a lot of mins. While 27-32 year old KDH and Grealish being canonised.

Moyes has assent on all players - that doesn’t necessarily mean they are him top picks.

There are power plays. At some point TFG are going to look at the effectiveness of what was spend on Barry, Dibling, Rohl, Charly and Aznou, either the administration will be held accountable or the manager.

It’s a curious dynamic, Moyes wast the administrations first choice - Graham Potter was, TFG intervened and put Moyes in place, Moyes is very much a TFG man/pick, how that works either way those operationally in the club is curious dynamic and one I see coming to head at some point and as I say - probably due to recruitment.
There needs to be a reckoning at some point...soon. We cannot have a repeat of last summer no matter who remains this summer.

The people clamouring for Moyes to stay would be the same as the Palace fans calling for Hodgson to stay on at Palace.

Move on now, Moyes is just another Dyche or Fat Sam but he comes with Bluetooth. Get rid of the negative dinosaur
Brilliant haha

The strategy seems muddled and if I had to guess I would say TFG probably had to compromise a few things to get him to take the job.

The word from everyone including Moyes has always been that he's here to stabilise for club for a year or two. Doesn't make any sense for Moyes to be making the calls on transfers when this is the case, especially if he's wanting to bring in more senior players for the next couple years who have a limited shelf life and no resale value.

I didn’t say he made the calls on transfers mate, in fact I said the opposite i said he had assent. From the point I made they are two different things.

That’s my take mate, there will be a showdown and or an accounting at some point.
There needs to be accountability. Whether that is Kinnear, Moyes, or both, there needs to be accountability for the fiasco of last summer. This is the THIRD Friedkin transfer window, by the way. They weren't ready for the first one, they clearly weren't ready for the summer, and they appear to be sitting out this one. Moyes, to me, is part of the problem - but I fear there is a bigger problem upstairs.

The worst thing to do is get rid of a manager mid season, (look at Man Utds options right now) i believe the summer is perfect as their will be many options available.
If he continues next season i think he would be fired at some point.

He hasnt done a bad job at all but what we are getting now in terms of performance and results will continue, he has this type of form over his whole career.
I want better or at least try for better and i would hope our new owners do as well.

Moyes is just the mounjaro of football managers. He makes some swift improvements, but after a while, nothings really changed and the underlying problems are still there and you need to do something more fundamental to make things better.
The only difference is he’s a lot more expensive than a fat jab.

I didn’t say he made the calls on transfers mate, in fact I said the opposition said he had assent. From the point I made they are two different things.
I didn't say that you said that, it's just widely accepted as the truth that Moyes has the biggest say no?

I'm just saying that doesn't really make sense to me, and given his job remit of a year or two of stability I don't think he should be making decisions that influence the longer term like transfers. If there's disagreements on transfers between him and recruitment team, imo the decision should ultimately be made by the recruitment team who will still be here when the squad is complete.

Yes , if you have confidence in the expertise of the committee.

I don't

Tbh in summer we were in for a lot of good players who knocked us back. Fofana, Kubo, Fort off the top of my head, I look at and go yeah thats the right kind of profile of player.

Obviously didn't get any of those over the line and have gone into this season short all over the pitch, but I think there was an element of us being overambitious when our reputation was in the toilet and that backfiring on us.

We were after enough good players that while I wouldn't let recruitment team off the hook for failing to address some key positions, I would be interested to see what they do the second time around when the club is in a better spot and is a bit more appealing to players.

Moyes on the other hand I just feel like I know the type of signings he wants and it's not what I want to see.

When does this dinosaur’s contract actually end?

All I can find is “2027”. It’s not normal for contracts to end mid season, is it?
