2025/26 David Moyes

What is the point of a presser when he never tells us anything about injuries or for looking forward about when we can look forward to any come backs, someone needs to tell him that our fans look forward to information and he does not own the club.

….remember when injury information was being leaked on here and posters complained, maybe a much tighter ship these days.

I understand what you are saying and I am not asking for secret information, just a little information as to how players are going on and when roughly players are expected to be fit, as far as I know its only our manager that does this, other wise what's the point of a presser.

Exactly. Whilst European football would be brilliant next season, it isn't make or break for me, and that doesn't mean I lack any ambition.*

It's all relative, because we must recognise that we've been near the bottom for a reason, so it will take time to slowly but also surely move up the table.

People may mention we could move quicker, yet the club's finances will need time to be rebuilt, and you want long-term growth rather than flash in the pan.

Just look at the likes of what Newcastle, Spurs and others have spent, and they're currently below us. It's difficult to sustain a position in the league.

*back to this Everton daaa syndrome, I've mentioned to you in the Aznou thread.
True mate but both have won trophy’s too I wouldn’t mind a few of them flash in the pans either

….i’d actually be more interested if he selected Patterson again.

Whilst I understand the sentiment, Keane has been fine and we’re stronger with O’Brien at RB than other options available.
Keane getting plaudits for individual performances this season but we concede more with him in the back 4 and have to play deeper due to neither him or Tarkowski having recovery pace.

So far we're 2 for 2 on clean sheets with O’Brien playing cb, with 2 dominant, assured performances by Jake.

Also has to be said, unlikely as it is - Patterson actually did alright against Forest and had some nice link up play with Dibling.

Don't get me wrong, I am not saying I don't want silverware: that should always be our aim. Yet, ideally, you'd want both and that's the problem.

West Ham won the Conference League, which I be very happy for us to win, and now they're back in a yo-yo situation, struggling in 18th.

Under Moyes, they finished 13th, 16th (taking over from Pelligrini in late December), 6th, 7th, 14th and 9th, which shows that a level of consistency.

I think he has the chance to bring us a trophy, however my point is that I think it's more likely to come next year and beyond, if we let him build.

I am not expecting nor demanding it this season.

Interesting little table in an article about Rosenior/Strasbourg/Chelsea; Everton have the 5th highest number of total “long passes” across Europe’s top 5 leagues this season. Behind only Getafe, Burnley, Wolves and Palace. Strasbourg are lowest.

I know we like a good hoof, and Pickford accounts for a fair chunk of them over to O’Brien, but very surprised we are that high. You’d hope that would continue to come down a little more given we have players Grealish, KDH, Dibbling, Ndiaye even Garner.

That sounds like BS to me.
