2025/26 David Moyes

Everything post 87 has been crap apart from the odd blip. Suppose it depends what you judge it against. My boy has known nothing but crap and thanks me regularly for passing on the general pain and suffering. So he thinks having a couple of players that can pass and control a ball like now is brilliant. He's hardly ever seen it, Deulofeu, Mirralas, Barkley and Lukaku excepted.

However I've never been more positive about the future possibilities than now.
Just the one blip, in 95

But I like your positivity

Nobody was demanding Europe, that was gaslighting from the manager, we were simply demanding to not be 1 point outside of the relegation zone. You laughed at anyone who thought we could do any better than scrambling to 35 points. Own it, and own Moyes giving your scab rat Kopite mate an almighty fisting.
Dave posed truly profound questions though like what if it was Sir Gareth Southgate at the helm trying to scramble to 35 points? In his mind it would made our season

That's fine - but the task now should be to change Everton so that the best football managers can be the best Everton managers.

Basically, if Moyes is the better Everton manager, that means we're not operating at the level a man of Ancelotti excels at. The top. And, of course, we're not. I agree with horses for courses - it's why Dyche was arguably the best Everton manager two and three years ago - when Frank Lampard certainly wasn't. But Everton has to change. If it doesn't - and Moyes remains the best Everton manager we can have - well, I don't see too much future in comfortable, safe and perhaps regular 8th place finishes and fourth round cup exits.

Will that do for now? Sure (though a cup run would be nice). In the long run, it means we continue to cede the city to Liverpool who were no bigger than us for most of their history but who have left us in the dust over the last 50 years.
I’m not arguing whether the job Moyes done was good enough or not.

I’m just saying no manager since has done any better.
Which is a Facht

That was the moment I checked out with Dyche. I give him his dues with the job he did when we got hit with the deduction but as soon as he started waffling utter nonsense like this it turned some fans imo, if the football already hadn't. It was always someone else's fault.

They're Moyes supporters mate. I completely get it. There's a cohort on here who'd rather see Moyes keep his job - the feller who abused the club and the fans, btw - than be criticised for not winning anything in his 12 years here. A figure which is probably the worst rate of failure for trophies per season in tenure for any manager we've ever had, btw.

The feller is a duffer and needs calling out for it at every point.
I like Moyes and always did, however it is also possible to like someone while recognising they’re not perfect.

Two things are possible simultaneously and I for one am glad he’s currently here. That’s not to say I’m happy with not winning anything since 1995, of course I’m not. But after the last decade or so we desperately needed some stability and he brings that.

And for a guy who posted that he always supports the Everton manager, he certainly doesn’t practise what he preaches.

Oh but I did back this manager, and I was as big a Moyes fan as anyone in his first 7 or so seasons here.

Then he started to attack fans for opposing Kenwright's failure to find investment and his little side deal with Green and Earl to let them in on a Kirkby stadium investment - just so he could prove what a good little company man he was to his future OT employers, no doubt.

I'll never disguise my repulsion where Moyes is concerned. As well as being a bang average dullard manager he's a man who doesn't have this club's interests at heart.

Plain fact of the matter is that we haven't had a Manager good enough with whatever he's had at his disposal to make us into a team that can challenge for honours and have other teams fans take us seriously. Whether that is related to the Manager's ability, the way the Club was run at the time, the lack of quality players or simply most teams getting comparably better season on season is op[en to conjecture.
Personally, I find Moyes fine for the stage we're at now but don't believe he has the credentials to make us top 6-7 challengers even if he's supported with investment. On that basis I think we should be actively seeking a suitable, younger replacement for next season.

As said above mate: he's not to be trusted IMO.

Good or bad as a football coach/manager, he's let Evertonians down and criticised them both while he was here in his first period in charge and after he left and was Man United manager.

Some people can forgive and forget. Good luck to them. That's not for me though. I have a long memory where he's concerned and there's no way back for someone who put the knife in and turned it.

Wicked, banging on about a stadium that never even got built. I wonder which corporate sponsor is in the crosshairs for being sold out to in this case.
