Hi Pete. Good to hear from you. I'm sorry to hear about your health issues but I hope they will soon get to the bottom of it. In the meantime take good care of yourself. XHi everyone. Obviously I haven’t posted for a while but I’ve had a lot on my plate regarding looking after Kay and my own health. I’d gotten a very small rash on one leg (near the ankle) and my foot began to swell a bit to the extent that I could only wear one pair of shoes. I mentioned it to the Doctor and she had me do a variety of blood tests, urine etc before telling me she didn’t have a clue. Next it was chest X-rays , then a colonoscopy, then ultrasound, still not a clue. She obviously thought about cancer, but I was totally clear. This of course was taking up a tremendous amount of time going to hospitals etc. The doctors latest view (guess) is that it may be liver related and so I gave up any alcohol (I never used to drink a lot anyway) while the God’s debate what, if any, liver tests I should undertake. I certainly can’t fault the thoroughness. Meanwhile I’d had all my tablets changed and put on a course of antibiotics which while ridding me of a terrible cough had other side effects leaving me with a bit of dizziness but that could be related to a new problem with my hearing. I still try to get to my pub but less frequently and the staff immediately make me a mug of tea. I’ve got another appointment on Monday but have noticed that my foot swelling has gone down, so we shall see.
My kids have been terribly worried about me and breathed a sigh of relief when I wrote to EFC and relinquished my season ticket due to this dizziness.
Anyway, that’s what has been happening, sorry for the moan…..
Magnesium is recommended for calming the brain and getting a better sleep. I use it for other reasons but I think it helps my sleep too, my daughter also uses it for her sleep. I use a 3in 1 magnesium compound from Nutrition Geeks . As ever dom your own search and checks as it may be incompatible for you .I might have to try the whiskey suggestion. My issue after an 8pm game on TV is that I can’t settle my head for sleep until ages after.
Nice to have you back in the room, I hope they get to the bottom of your health issues, it’s such a worry waiting to find things out.Hi everyone. Thanks for the tip. I might try that - I am challenged by waking up at 4 am and not being able to get back to sleep.Magnesium is recommended for calming the brain and getting a better sleep. I too stay awake for hours if I wake even though I take magnesium everyday .Thanks for the tip. I might try that - I am challenged by waking up at 4 am and not being able to get back to sleep.
That’s exactly what we used to do after a night game but we also used to stop at the garage on the way home and pick up a packet of crumpets! Whisky and crumpets - very rock and rollI share your views about 8 o’clock kickoffs, there was a Buckie match for me to attend this Wednesday which was called off because of the weather but in my mind I’d decided not to go any way. Despite multi layers, hat, gloves, scarf I’m always cold during the winter matches , and although I’m back home about 10:10 pm I need an hour or so and a whisky to thaw out and can’t go to bed before then. I would recommend the whisky aspect though Gwladys , even if you don’t go to the match!
My mum used to say she didn’t need as much sleep as she got older and I suspect this might be another trait I’ve inherited, but I’ll give the magnesium a go and see what happensI too stay awake for hours if I wake even though I take magnesium everyday .
Me too, then my mind works overtime worrying about anything and everything. I mainly listen to podcasts which help to distract my thoughts.I too stay awake for hours if I wake even though I take magnesium everyday .

If Everton/Ireland/Ard Mhacha aren’t playing then I have a great relationship with sleep. Normally asleep within 5 minutes when lights out.Magnesium is recommended for calming the brain and getting a better sleep. Yep , I’m in both those categories! I fall asleep straight away , then have to get up at least once for the toilet, tis a man’s thing!, and usually get back to sleep . Except when my brain starts thinking too much.If Everton/Ireland/Ard Mhacha aren’t playing then I have a great relationship with sleep. Normally asleep within 5 minutes when lights out.
Really nice day today. My Mum’s birthday. I’m always working and she hates to think she is interrupting me.
This evening, meal out declined as it’s too cold. Takeout pizza and Elf.
