January Transfer Window 2026

The fact that full backs are constantly an out ball,
Having 2 with ability is very important. They get a lot of touches in the modern game and if we had a brilliant full backs, it would open up
More space for Grealish and Ndiaye.
2 full backs a striker and a number 6, should be the 4 most important positions we need to target next summer
Think you'll find a priority/desperate striker situation coming/needed January. Too many 2pts dropped each game when we don"t score is disgraceful.

You'd hope Moyes would be able to identify one, given how bad this club has been at recruiting strikers since Lukaku left, but who knows how it works with the new recruitment people above him, let alone what budget is even available to use in the window.
Not sure Moyes is to be trusted with strikers after signing James Beattie

A quality striker has been needed since the day Lukaku left, I doubt we'll be getting one in the middle of a season.

How a team that has been as good as bottom of the goals-scored table for the last few years starts a season with only 2 strikers on the books (1 being rubbish, the other never having kicked a ball in the Prem) is as baffling as it is criminal.

Could'nt careless about needing a fullback. Full backs don't win you games, Strikers do! Thats why fullbacks are £15m and strikers are £75m. Jeez!

Mate if we had 2 fast attacking fullbacks at lb and rb it would completely transform us as a team.

If we had them id fully expected us to challenge for Europe this season imo.

Watching attacks constantly breakdown when o'Brien and mykolenko receive the ball is soul destroying.

Were not getting another striker in January imo.

No one will loan us anything better then what we have and to buy anyone better then what we have will cost us £50m+ which we wont be spending in January on one player.

Aye, but Moyes was operating on a shoestring back then. It's not like now where the world's top strikers are desperate to come to the mighty EFC........

What was it, £6m for the slightly-less-fat-James-Cordon? Still bagged more goals than Beto n Barry will probably get this year.

The old adage that players are out there always rings true, Bournemouth prove it again with a French u21 player who cost 10m while we managed to sign his team mate for nearly 3 times that.Could be that he never scores again after his double yesterday, but that will be 2 more than Barry presently looks capable of...

Doubt Digne would still be here regardless of Benitez and his shocking man management skills
Yeah, you're probably right with that. It would just be so nice to have fullbacks that were decent going forward, and we had one, and basically swapped him for the fooballing equivalent of a brick wall. I feel like when I'm watching JOB or Myko I'm holding my breath and then when they pass it to one of ours I'm saying to myself, "yes, yes, that's ok. Well done you".

Not sure it's much different now, whoever we buy will have risk attached

You're spot on, it's fine having one defensive full back but having both being defensive creates massive issues from a creativity point of view

Garner will be playing for someone else next season if new contract isn't signed. Majority of fans will realise how good he is then, and he's only getting better.
A young-ish, homegrown player, possibly available on a free in the summer - he wont be short of offers that's for sure. Wouldn't surprise me if he's on his way at the end of the season, and then it's another player who'll need replacing.
