I think Chris Wood would be a good Moyes striker on a 6 month loan deal if their next manager didn't fancy him. The market will be tough in January to get a striker but we need one. We disagree about that and that's fine. Sometimes people on here think we are far better than we are. Chris Wood was in top form for a side that almost finished in the CL last season. He's not some plodder.

Either way, we need one if Barry isn't going to be given a fair run.

Chris Wood had a purple patch as did Forest. It happens in football (Nikica Jelavic for example) it's not as simple as putting him into a different environment and seeing the same results. Plus I doubt Forest would loan him out especially if they get Dyche in or if they're still in Europe. So it's a non starter anyway even if I could see him making a difference which I can't

He's on the bench behind Fullkrug at West Ham, which isn't a great sign tbh

You're probably right that he will start again, but if he doesn't get a look in then I'd consider it in January.

The intention is right though. They are the areas we are really missing quality. Probably a next summer fix though.

I hope Rohl shows he is worth picking up as we phase out Gana too

He got 3 goals in 30 for Newcastle, again I suppose it’s how you set up. Did well in a dyche style, but we’re moving away from that, also we don’t know if he’s hit the wall, it can happen when you get into your 30’s and he’s 34 soon, with a number of non stop season at prem level

His best season was last season which I'd argue is similar to how we have played best under Moyes with good counter attacking play and solid defensively.

He also only played 816 minutes for Newcastle in the league.

I'm not saying he's the answer for the future but it's quite clear to me that we need another striker in January and if he doesn't get back into the Forest side it's worth exploring a short term deal if available.

I can only assume loads of people don’t actually take any notice of PL football the way they talk about Chris wood. You’d swear the way some people talk about him he’d come from the conference north and first played in the PL last year, the blokes been a decent PL striker for the best part of a decade.

Could'nt careless about needing a fullback. Full backs don't win you games, Strikers do! Thats why fullbacks are £15m and strikers are £75m. Jeez!
