January Transfer Window 2026

Striker is clearly a huge problem area - but I can’t for the life of me imagine us going out and spending the money we need to on the type of player we need to in the January window.

It seems too big a problem to solve in the stop-gap window.
We may get a loan option, Toney? Though I know most think he wouldn’t come because of what happened at goodison. But if he wants the prem because of the World Cup, it will depend on what clubs come in for him

I will be surprised if alcraraz and garner are first 11 regulars

Who knows?

Probably not many i named will even be at the club.

But we need to have a settled core of players to build upon.

After the spending in the summer and the mishmash of players signed its even more important.

Anyone who has a goal-scoring No9 isn't selling them in the January window, assuming we even have funds to spend given that we've just plopped about £100m on players.

Other than a short term loan of someone or Mikhail Antonio on a free for six months the striker issue will no doubt be kicked down the road yet again, so long as the club is doing fine, comfortably somewhere in midtable.

We all know we need a better striker but no-one has suggested a suitable striker we should be targeting which suggests it's not very easy to just buy one who'll be to the desired level

Just watching Villa and Spurs. What a shame that mess chased Digne out of the club. He'd be great outside Grealish/Ndiaye. Ho hum, maybe we'll get some full backs in Jan, but won't hold my breath
Doubt Digne would still be here regardless of Benitez and his shocking man management skills

Yeah, I think we will get someone - possibly on loan - and I think it will be the type of signing that will disappoint plenty of people that aren’t willing to accept the difficulty of signing a good striker in January.

We had far too much to do last summer, thanks to years of terrible business, and striker was one of the areas where we didn’t do enough.

It’s got to be job-one for the summer, surely.

The stumbling block is Toney’s £400k a week wages mate. Even if Al-Ahli Saudi subsidised half of those wages it’s still would be too much for us I would imagine.

You'd hope Moyes would be able to identify one, given how bad this club has been at recruiting strikers since Lukaku left, but who knows how it works with the new recruitment people above him, let alone what budget is even available to use in the window.

Could'nt careless about needing a fullback. Full backs don't win you games, Strikers do! Thats why fullbacks are £15m and strikers are £75m. Jeez!
Such a dated take on the modern game this.

Fullbacks are pivotal to how the games played these days. Look at how Liverpool have dropped off because they've not replaced AA and Robertson well.

We desperately need 2 quality fullbacks and have for 5 years.

The fact that full backs are constantly an out ball,
Having 2 with ability is very important. They get a lot of touches in the modern game and if we had a brilliant full backs, it would open up
More space for Grealish and Ndiaye.
2 full backs a striker and a number 6, should be the 4 most important positions we need to target next summer

Mental how these positions have been the major priority for numerous seasons now. Could argue we’ve tried to sign strikers but keep signing crap ones. How we haven’t even bothered signing full backs is ridiculous.
For the sake of playing devil's avocado... the club might say we've got 4 perfectly capable full backs on the books in Coleman, Patterson, Mykolenko, Anzou plus Garner and O'Brien can play there so six players for two positions for a team that plays once a week equals not a necessity to address.

In other words, much like having a quality striker, it's something the club might feel they can kick down the road for another day. Again.
