It wasn't meant as a direct comparison to Fat Dog mate. Just that those bands are similar in that they are something different to the usual stuff getting banged out in large quantities at the moment. If you get a chance listen to their second album, 3D Country. I prefer it plus it's an easier listen and that one did remind me a lot of Radiohead. As regards the Australian band, it could be Psychedelic Porn Crumpets. Or maybe Tame Impala or King Gizard who both seem to reinvent themselves every time they release an album.Havenāt got listening to New Dad but have given Geese a couple of plays. Not sure what to make of it which is normally a good sign for me. A few more listens will bring it out of itself. At first blush, no two songs are obvious sister songs and as such itās hard to define them. His vocals remind me of Kid A and all the tricks on its production. That first track has no place on the album though.
Iām not seeing your Fat Dog comparison though? Dominant male vocalist maybe? They remind me of an Aussie Band but for the life of me I canāt remember their name. They have a song referencing football and thatās all I got.
The Australian bandās song is āsomethingā and football. It is melting my head now.It wasn't meant as a direct comparison to Fat Dog mate. Did you get around to giving Cliffords a listen mate. They only have a handful of songs out but they are all very good. They remind me very much of Nieve Ella {who I love} but with an Irish accent. Just listening to the Sprints new album and quite enjoying it. It's a lot more varied than the first album which was straight up punk and I get a bit bored with that after a while.
On a different note I'm enjoying House of Guinness. I'm particularly liking that a scouser is playing one of the prominent parts and that it appears to be filmed almost exclusively in our beautiful city. Liverpool getting payback in advance for the new Beatles film. Plus I think they should have had a disclaimer for the bath scene in episode 3 just in case the ladies think that's normal.![]()
Haha. If they weren't prosthetics it would be almost worth getting infected for.The Australian bandās song is āsomethingā and football. It is melting my head now.
I will delve into Geese because they have sparked my curiosity now. Re The Cliffordās, have given them a good go and enjoying them. RTE are giving them a little traction now too.
I really enjoyed House of Guinness myself, well written and lovely for me to recognise the settings. If you think that bath scene was noteworthy you should try 28 Years Later![]()
