Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Got tickets for me and Mrs J ages ago and can't wait to see her at the Phil. I think she's playing with just a guitarist and cellist so as well as stuff from her new album ( which I think is one of her most diverse since 99.9°F ) I'm expecting/ hoping for plenty of early stuff.
I remember you buying your tickets but I was waiting to see what happened with Everton and Prescot Cables ! I wasn’t hopeful last night but there was a single ticket in the middle of the front row of the circle , I didn’t fancy paying Ā£178 for one of the seats empty on row B of the stalls.

Happy anniversary Mr and Mrs @jazzy. Have a lovely day.
We are still on Leros. It is so beautiful. Our hotel overlooks the bay so we sit on our balcony and watch the boats come in and out. I did do a bit of sea swimming today but too many little fish nibbling at my ankles! Today I discovered that there was a battle at Leros in 1943. It was considered to be the last significant defeat of the Allies in WW2. We are going to visit the war museum in the next village tomorrow. Here's a moon picture from last night and also the weirdest place I have ever seen a hotel room phone! 'Hello, can you bring me more loo roll - it’s a matter of urgency'1000011736.webp1000011875.webp

Re your second photograph, I have a developing dialogue in my head of someone answering that phone while perching and the caller being Chris Tarrant doing the ā€˜phone a friend’ call šŸ˜€

It looks lovely Anj.
Your loo photo reminds me of my first trip to the USA on business back in 1981. Over the weekend I was taken to Philadelphia by a guy I’d met , we were going to run a 1/2 marathon and see the sights, there was a large group of us. I was in a separate hotel and after the race while using the toilet I was startled by the phone on the wall going off. Nobody knew I was there and who the hell puts a phone in the toilet! With trepidation I answered it , it was my friend in another hotel down the street. When I told him where I was he was hugely impressed , I could hear him shouting to others ā€œ Hey , you’re not going to believe this , he’s got a phone in his toilet and he’s using it !!ā€

As a footnote , while I can’t now remember the name of the hotel five years earlier it was the hotel that held the American Legion convention where quite a number of people died or people became ill from the air conditioning, giving rise to the term ā€œ Legionnaires Diseaseā€.
