Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

I think that if Moyes is allowed to sign 30yr old Soucek it indicates that there's issues with the recruitment structure.
Maybe he dosen’t though and one link from West Ham Central that has snowballed way more than it ever should will prove to be crap!

Just like most rumours do every summer.

Nearly every deal/change made by TFG has not been leaked…think lot of our business will be under wraps even upto the point of them signing. Only fact that flamengo said goodbye to charly on their twitter alerted anyone to our interest

I would be mortified if we did, but with Moyes supposedly being a big fan of DCL, it wouldn’t surprise me, as we are likely to be priced out of most striker deals this summer with every major club needing one. Plus, Moyes is, and always has been, absolutely terrible at signing strikers.

Just have to hope DCL turns down his deal.

why will we priced out mate

show optimism TFG are backing
moyes he will get who he wants

Angel Gomes & KWP if we could get them in that would be great.
That gomes would give us somebody who is good on the ball also can play in the 10 role. With doucoure gone i would like see some height added in midfield would lova to get anothet onana. Think kwp would be a solid signing not exciting also gives us a chance scout for the future looking at a younger rb

Does feel like an easy link that and longstaff

Absolutely.

Hopefully we’re looking for a younger player to develop over time, basically what we did with Branthwaite, but if we want a stop gap then a quick glance at the free agent market shows that Ben Mee and Wily Boly are available - either of whom could comfortably replace calamity Keane and probably on far less money as well.

There’s not a universe that exists where Keane should be retained, even if he takes a huge pay cut.
Ben Mee will be 36 at the start of next season, he's started 2 PL games in the last 18 months, and the first website I looked at suggests he earns £55k a week. This type of thing is very much the same thing as the 'it's a disgrace that we don't play Lewis Dobbin and Ellis Simms every week lad' shouts that come up, only for the players to go elsewhere and prove conclusively that they very much can be any worse what we're watching.

For an effective loan financially a club generally want minimum a year of amortisation and their wages.

Anything below that you are into fixer uppers and high risk.

When we had Zouma we paid a fee of 7 mill for the season and his wages.

The market now is tapped, it’s a whole industry.

I’m not dogmatic on it, i guess I’m just highlighting it isn’t the pancea most think it will be by maxing out loans to enable progress, which we should be targeting. It will be an expensive deal for a good player for a year or a risk fixer upper.
Why i want to be looking deals like alcaraz from othwr leagues but would be higher risk and would need good scouting. As would be on less money and may be happy take a loan fee with fixed price

He’s done wonders with Beto ( still not good enough for first choice)
I kind of agree but last season he had about 1 in 3/4 his minutes totalled just over 10 games this season he’s 1 in 2 minutes total 16 games in the premier league last season no consistent minutes this season he’s doing what’s asked and required so far, we definitely need another forward to fight for the number 9 shirt but right now for me Beto has earned that spot and is good enough think we’d be happy with someone getting 1 in 3 over the season.

Who was his 10 at West Ham, Paqueta? Kudus ?. The reason he had Cahill was because of finances, fellaini was Mainly a centre mid, he had a season further forward when we had no strikers. I think it’s a bit blinkered to say he only likes big physical number 10’s
Paqueta mostly played from the left. Didn't play as a number 10 much. Kudus played all over the place - from the right when Bowen was up front, from the left when Paqueta didn't play, but also as a 10 at times. Soucek seemed, more often than not, to be the favoured option there over his time at West Ham from memory.

Only looked at a few games in the 22/23 season and the European final and soucek was with rice in midfield, kudus, paqueta and Bowen the 3 behind the striker. I’d guess soucek was in centre midfield for the majority of his games under Moyes. He never seemed to be so advanced when I saw them. Seen a few formations of 433 with rice, soucek, paqueta as the 3 in midfield, but it’s unlikely soucek would be more advanced than paqueta imo.

Obviously he would get forward and in the box, but more of a box to box player, not playing off the striker

Because we cannot spend an unlimited amount of money. We need new FBs, wingers, strikers and midfielders (possibly more of them if Gana goes), and strikers always cost the most. Cannot do all that. If we just needed, say, a striker and a FB, we might be able to throw more money at it. But, we don't have that option and, at least for now, we're still not an attractive destination.

For example, Cunha is going to Utd for £62m supposedly, when they are getting worse and worse and the club is in a state. Even if we had that money to spend, he'd would never consider coming to us. The teams that have fallen are more attractive than us, and a lot of teams like Newcastle etc are a more attractive destination (for now).

Will make it very hard to recruit. But not impossible.
