...and this is why I don't think Moyes is the right man for the next phase of Everton. Because I'm worries that this sort of thing will actually happen.I predict we’ll start off with frees to plug some gaps in the squad, Fabianski and Coufal being the obvious two. Hopefully also get Charly in the door. Then everyone will fume that we’re not spending any money as we take our time buying the right midfielders and forwards.
I actually forgot about Mangala..
IF he was available again on loan then I reckon that'd be a no-brainer. Fills another gap in CM next season.
God no - we should be aiming to do so much better than Mangala.I actually forgot about Mangala..

Absolutely horrific when he last played a number of consecutive games... Mistake after mistake. Shocking with the ball at his feet too. What state is Forster in these days? He’s just left Spurs. Was a great keeper in his day.
Coufal would only have made any semblance of sense if Coleman had leftI predict we’ll start off with frees to plug some gaps in the squad, Fabianski and Coufal being the obvious two. Of course he does, he won’t get wages close to it elsewhere, nowhere near good enough.I have a source in the Danish National Team who can confirm that Moyes was interested in signing Lindstrom when he was at West Ham - up to you if you want to believe me or not. Also says that Lindstrom wants to come back to Everton next year.
You do realise you’ve called our manager not good enough based on a comment on a forum with no actual substance or truth to it....and this is why I don't think Moyes is the right man for the next phase of Everton. Because I'm worries that this sort of thing will actually happen.
Coufal shouldn't be anywhere near Everton. Fabianski sits in the pot of 35+ keepers who will sit on the bench for £25k/£30k per week being 'a good pro'. Hopefully you're just making an assumption that because they were at West Ham, and are leaving on free transfers, that Moyes will immediately bring them to BMD, but it's not like he hasn't got form for this.
If I was like farming I’d have started a thread addressing the Thomas Mullet rumour…
Or is that just pointing out the agricultural nature of Scottish football?
@Goat this fella has got your squad analysis virtually up and running.Current state of play, we have just 12 contracted players as we head into 2025/26 at the new stadium with just 6 of them classed as 'Home Grown'. A Premier League squad can have a maximum of 25 players, with a maximum of 17 of those players not being classified as "Home Grown".
We have 7 players that are confirmed to be leaving, 2 of which featured prominently this year with 5 players reaching the end of their loan, 3 featuring prominently this season.
3 players could join the list of those leaving or could accept new deals. While we didn't trigger the clause on Alcaraz, it's possible we may still make a bid, unknown on the status of the rest.
First-Team Players for 2025/26 Season: 12
Pickford (HG)
Branthwaite (HG)
Tarkowski (HG)
Mykolenko
Patterson
O'Brien
Garner (HG)
Iroegbunam (HG)
McNeil (HG)
Ndiaye
Beto
Chermiti
Potential Youth Call Ups:
Armstrong (HG)
Leaving (End of Contract/Sales): 7
Young (HG)
Virginia (HG)
Begovic (HG)
Doucoure
Holgate (HG)
Maupay
Crellin (HG)
Leaving (End of Loan): 5
Alcaraz
Harrison (HG)
Lindstrom
Broja (HG)
Mangala
Re-Signed: 1
Coleman (TBC Player or Coach)
Unknown:
Gueye
Keane
DCL
Taking into account all of this...it is going to be a MAMMOTH job to fill out a squad for next season. Gana re-signing is going to be crucial, perhaps Keane & DCL too. We might call up Armstrong, nothing is indicating we'll call up any of the other youth team players.
For me, we need (in priority order):
Reserve GK (Free/Loan/Prospect)
Starting RB
Starting DM (If Gueye Leaves)
Starting AM
Starting/Competing LB
Starting/Competing ST
Backup Keeper (Free/Promote from Youth)
And the rest...
Anyone else crapping one?
Fabianski I’m happy with, who cares about the sub keeper in all honestly. Coufal I wouldn’t touch but it just feels too obvious not to happen. Legs have gone and he’ll inevitably end up playing 25 games when Patterson and Coleman get injured....and this is why I don't think Moyes is the right man for the next phase of Everton. Because I'm worries that this sort of thing will actually happen.

Agreed. He feels inevitable to me though.Coufal would only have made any semblance of sense if Coleman had left
No. I've been if the opinion since Dyche left that Moyes was not the right choice of manager to lead Everton into the 2025/26 season. You do realise you’ve called our manager not good enough based on a comment on a forum with no actual substance or truth to it.
I think it’s fair to say no matter what Moyes actually does you will make a case against him.
Pep saying he wants a smaller squad.. I think McAtee is ideal for us.
Or, if past history is anything to go by, we'll take our time and then not buy the right midfielders and forwards, and all the people who told people to stop bedwetting for mentioning it in the summer will cry about it all season as if it's a massive shock.I predict we’ll start off with frees to plug some gaps in the squad, Fabianski and Coufal being the obvious two. Hopefully also get Charly in the door. Then everyone will fume that we’re not spending any money as we take our time buying the right midfielders and forwards.
