Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Tyrer will be 24 halfway through the season so he's certainly not a kid, but he probably isn't good enough to be our back up keeper who could be asked to play 30 games if the worst were to happen.
Keeper wise sorry. Pickford was only getting into Sunderland’s team about that age (maybe a year or so younger).

I think we need an experienced keeper on a free and then and older head again as number 3. If tyrer is talented enough get him signed to a longer term deal and get him a championship loan, make or break.

I think we were flying close to the sun with Virginia as a 2.

Pickford was already our and England's first choice keeper at 23. 23/24 isn't particularly young for a keeper these days to be honest, probably most of the PL keepers were playing top level at that age. I don't disagree with your point about Tyrer, just saying it's not really his age that's the issue, more the level he's at currently.

I think most keepers still aren’t playing top top level till 23/24 though.

Take your point re: Pickford I think im a year or so behind on him. Raya was at Blackburn at 22/23 though for example.

It’s still definitely a position you mature in to. Can’t risk a young keeper as backup IMO.

Well as I say sort of off the top of my head i'm confident that Pickford was, Alisson was, Ederson was, Onana was, Henderson was, Ramsdale was, Verbruggen and Kinsky are, so I think it's pretty normal age wise to be honest. Obviously people progress differently so it doesn't mean if you're not at the top level at that age you never will be, just saying having a 24 year old back up keeper in itself would absolutely not be an issue in the slightest, it's just that he probably isn't actually good enough.

Lindstrom started to play well under Moyes - I much prefer him as a squad option to Harrison. I appreciate the goals and assists were lacking but he had been Dyched until Moyes came in. Unless we can source better, I would bring him back on loan with an option to buy for around £15 million in 2027. I would also bring back Mangala on loan with an option to buy. He was playing very well before the injury. I appreciate he will have to overcome an ACL injury but the advancements in medical treatment these days is immense - NFL players regularly come back from these type of injuries. Both will be up to speed in terms of playing in the Premier League having had the 6 months of experience playing with this team and Mangala with Forest beforehand. Sign Alcaraz still leaving 2 more international loan options.

As others have stated, at least one attacking full back, a quality central midfielder (Garner is more of a squad option imo), a right winger and a centre forward would be the other pre-requisites in my view.

Wouldn't shock me if Moyes went in for Fabianski on a free

Robin Olsen is leaving Villa. Someone experienced of that ilk is ideal as a #2.

I have a source in the Danish National Team who can confirm that Moyes was interested in signing Lindstrom when he was at West Ham - up to you if you want to believe me or not. Also says that Lindstrom wants to come back to Everton next year.
He’s awful , and it’s done Moyes a favour having him on loan to see how bad he is and how he’s not suited to the prem. would be a disgrace getting him back

agree, would not take him for 25 mil or whatever, but I think he looked good in Moyes' system and I think we could be a weirdly good right winger or right back. Would not be upset if we didn't get him, but thought he looked more interesting before the injury.

What state is Forster in these days? He’s just left Spurs. Was a great keeper in his day.

I predict we’ll start off with frees to plug some gaps in the squad, Fabianski and Coufal being the obvious two. Hopefully also get Charly in the door. Then everyone will fume that we’re not spending any money as we take our time buying the right midfielders and forwards.
