Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

The first thing I will properly judge the new owners on is whether they will get business done earlier than previous years, and whether they will prioritise the key positions in attack over far less important areas.

These are the two biggest failings of recent years IMO, and I want to see they plan to go about things differently. We can't be waiting until late August to do most of our business. We need to be ready to start the season because we have been abysmal in August for far too many seasons, and points count the same whether they are in August, December or May.
Given the amount of recruitment that still needs to happen in the recruitment department itself, I think business may end up being later than we'd like.

We'll see, but with that and the 30th June PSR deadline we still need to be careful of, I think we might need more patience than we'd ideally like to show.

I think we're going to have a lot of disappointed people about if they expect big signings to roll in from the first day of the transfer window

It’s not feasible to go into a season with 12 first team players, so really we’re just going to have to do early business whether it suits the PSR man or not. We sort of don’t have a choice. The recruitment team thing isn’t an excuse either because the owners have had since January to start putting a recruitment team in place. If there still isn’t one then the manager is the recruitment team as it stands, so he better get to work.

Top him like...
we do love a centre back

you would think given that we haven't scored more than 50 goals in a season since 2018/2019 that we would prioritise a different area

our average amount of goals scored in the last three seasons is 38 which is 1 goal per game

bizarre thought but maybe goals win games and keep you away from the relegation zone?

If you add Armstrong + promote Tyrer + extend Gana + sign Alcaraz = 16 players.

Mimic last summer with 7 signings = 23.

The Moyes and Kinnear comments are major hyperbole.

Yes i think its just lies...

LB: Mykolenko
CB: Branthwaite, Bisseck, Tarkowski
RB: O'Brien, Patterson

Thats a decent foundation and a LB away from a very good back 4.
from a defensive standpoint point yes that back 4 does a job, if you want to be more fluid and be more attacking o brien and Mykolenko need replacing, and I think O’Brien did a good job there but he’s not a right back.

Yes We need forward , but you can’t go in another sessone with just 3 cb , and one of them is our best Rb and you then need to Play f Michael Keane if one is injured …

Prepare to be disappointed Mike. Most business will be done later on I think.
