Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

--------------Pickford
O'Brien Tarkowski Branthwaite A.Robinson
-----------Gana--A.Gomes
Fellows--- Richarlison--- N'Diaye
---------------Delap

Fellows and Gomes are Bosmans (I think) Richarlison a loan, Delap £30m, and no idea what Fulham would want for Robinson (contract to 2028). It's not bank breaking spending that. I do not expect five first team starters brought in, regardless of the requirement. I can but dream.

Keane, Coleman, Patterson, Beto, Garner, Young, Broja, Lindstrom. Obviously we can't lose everybody from these lists because we won't have the cash to replace them, but if we want to be moving up the table none of these lads are up to it.
Even if we do keep a couple of the "undesirables" it doesn't mean we can't improve league position. Moyes already said he can't fix everything in one window but I'm sure he still plans on improving. I don't know why you have Garner there. He's not someone you want to build a team around but you need players for different roles. Garner can play several positions and he is generally pretty reliable. He doesn't excite but rarely lets you down either.

Injury-free Coleman could still be useful, he'd be happy to be second-choice and he's a great leader & good for morale. But at that age it's hard to see him suddenly being available much more. In an ideal world I'd buy a new RB, keep Coleman and sell Patterson for whatever someone pays for him.

Fellows, btw, is not a Bosman. Rumoured price is 15 million. Robinson would also cost a fortune.

But who would come off the bench or replace injured players? Who would come in for Delap when he's not performing? What about Richy when he's injured? Is Fellows someone you count on being good for the entire season, capable of playing majority of matches? Who is your replacement RB if one of the three centre-backs is injured? Likewise, who would replace Gana, Garner?

I think Moyes worries that if he replaces half the team, one pre-season is not enough to create a proper team. So we have spent 200 million on players and they look bad because there's no chemistry. Would the fans be happy with that?
Its what happened to Forrest last season, paid off now though, communication is key for this to work.
I dont think that is Moyes style. I think he will sign 3 or 4 and maybe a couple of loans. Will look to keep what he knows too if possible. Can see all of Gana, Doucs, Harrison and DCL staying. Not saying I want any of them to stay but as long as they are short term and get phased out over next season, it may not be the worst thing, especially with the move to BMD.
Beto will probably be sold as he is one of our few saleable assets, maybe Patterson too but not sure we would get much.
Could see a Ferguson loan on the cards to challenge DCL/Other Striker. New RB and RW are top priority and he will want another CB to replace Keane.
Trying to keep my hopes down but also stay positive, its a challenge..........

Any of the loanees who have done a reasonable job for us this season , we should try to renew their loans next season. swapping them for a 'different' loanee is not a recipe for guaranteed success. I would be ok with a 're-loan' for Lindstrom, Mangala and maybe even Broja who really didnt get enough games this year due to injuries. Alcaraz should be signed. Harrison should not be.
Of the players out of contract, lets hope Gana stays for 1-2 years more, despite his homophobia, but we do need to be bringing in a new DM to replace him. Doucoure and DCL maybe 1 year contracts each.
It is time for Young and Coleman to focus on coaching badges.
Moyes is a conservative manager (not a Tory like Frank) and will want to minmise the amount of change so all of us baying for multiple signings are about to be underwhelmed. I could see him bringing in 3 new signing, none of which over 20M and 1-2 new loans. The rest of the work will be about damage limitation and dragging out the contract discussions over the next 2 windows.

I literally said in my post we couldn't lose everybody but, eventually, these are the types of players we need to move on.
I completely disagree about Coleman, if he wasn't Seamus Coleman nobody would want to keep him. Young has been more reliable in terms of both availability and performance over the past two years and you haven't suggested we keep him. If you want him for morale, keep him on as a coach on a much lower wage. He's done as a footballer.
Garner is an enigma to me, someone compared him with Phil Neville the other day and I would say that was an apt comparison. He's not terrible at anything but he's not actually especially good at anything either and unlike Neville he's not a leader on the pitch. We wouldn't notice if he was gone from the team, he's just a body. We won't sell him and he'll continue to be "fine".

Again, he was the first choice for many managers despite other forwards being available. His game was never just about goals. He is very good at playing the lone front man as long as he has support - he never gets any support.

What other strikers did we have available really?

he doesnt score any of he goals Beto has recently and he misses the same missed chance also.

DCL is by far the worst starting striker in the league

We cant seriously be thinking of giving him a new contract.

Time for a new start

DCL is a very strong performer with his back to goal, he is not so good facing the goal.
Beto - the opposite, terrible as a target man but passable running on to a through ball toward goal.
It is kind of interesting that we have 2 strikers whose attributes and weknesses are polar opposite.

Keeping Coleman is ridiculous he’s cost us a lot of money the last few years, again the situation has forced us to keep players that haven’t offered much, I still think k we can do a lot this summer, we signed 7 last summer with basically no money. I also think we should be looking to sell players for decent profit if it’s possible, like garner who has a year left and probably has a book value of 2/3mil.
