Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Morning everyone,

What absolutely terrible, shocking news about Roydo . Puts any little problems or worries that we have into perspective.

I was going to post in length about Mrs Js birthday weekend here in Madeira but it seems totally inappropriate.

I hope everyone is ok especially @Barnfred 55 .

Back to UK on Tuesday.

Take care everyone.

I am sure Tuesday will be fine to post the report .Enjoy your day .

Good morning to all of you on what I’m sure is a sad day for all the GOT community.

We won’t mourn Roydo, we will celebrate him in the way that is fitting to the Messy Cafe. We were blessed that he was a regular in here and we got to know the man behind the moniker. An engaging gent whose stories of slow cooked stews; the snug with the log burner and the escapades of a delivery driver kept us all entertained.

The mark of the man was his deep and obvious love of both Nikki and his family. There was a man who truly wore his heart on his sleeve. For me personally, he was inspirational in that respect- if you love someone, tell them so and tell the world while you are at it.

I rationalise by thinking that Heaven must have needed a ‘triffic Pensions Advisor and there was no better man for that.

Godspeed Roydo and if there is anything you can do up there for the mighty Toffees it would be much appreciated.

Good morning. I'm so sad about Roydo. As Fred said he missed Nikki desperately. I always remember his description of her as 'prime Felicity Kendal'.
It has also made me think that in this world of social media it is absolutely 100% possible to have friends who you have never met but whose wellbeing you care about and whose triumphs and tragedies you share just as much as if you know them in the real world.
Have a lovely Sunday x

Morning all, such sad news about Roydo. May he be at peace with his beloved Nikki.
I agree wholeheartedly with you, @anjelikaferrett re the friends you have never met and it is a privilege for me to share in your lives, the ups and downs and many laughs along the way.
@Barnfred 55 you are especially in my thoughts today .
Have a good day, all.💙

I'm OK guys and thanks for asking. It's been a difficult week that's for sure. Occasionally when a celebrity passes away it hits me hard for reasons I can't explain. That happened this week with Dave Myers. Other things have happened this week that have affected me too, not least our beloved football club. But the sad news last night about Roydo puts everything else firmly into perspective.

As you would expect, we did communicate from time to time and I very much regret now that we didn't do it more often. But that can't be changed. Plus I agree with AT. We need to celebrate his existence as well as mourning his loss. It's perfectly OK to do both. I'll be raising a glass to both Mark and Karl this evening. Two fine Blues and equally fine people.

There won't be any shortage of work up there for somebody able to offer pensions advice whilst delivering their parcel. A multi talented man.

I too am in awe of the posters and posts on here ,it is a great help to me personally .I truly am a better person thanks to Karl ,Mark and many others .Life is hard but I hope that one day I can manage to meet some from here .I have pencilled in a game at BMD were some of us could perhaps meet up and chew the cud . They do say never meet your heroes but we are bigger than that .
