Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

I often have a tear or two in my eye when I'm posting about Cal. Not gong to beat myself up about it. In fact it does you good ;)

Same. And it does indeed. We were both blessed to have loved and be loved by two lovely people. We grieve cos we loved, or sommet. So after I have a Sad hour or day, I always reflect on the loved bit of that. Then usually smile at how she always made me giggle with her turn of phrase.

So was kicking the crap out of your kids lol and caning, yikes and bullying apprentices was acceptable. We have changed for the better in a lot of ways. If only social media wasn't a thing, it brings the worst out in people as they can't get a clip round the ear.

Just had a nice chuck and brisket burger for tea, done on the griddle pan, which I spent a lot of time on, seasoning it. I see what you meant about free range chicken tasting better as well freddo, seemed so much more tender.
Bit early for tea isn't it T? (no pun intendedlol)

I've started cooking my winter menu. Did braised steak last week and yesterday cooked one of my chilli's. I'll have it again tomorrow and freeze a portion too. Nothing fancy for tea tonight, maybe some Iceland chicken fillet strips out of the freezer. Don't want to stink the place out as I've got the neighbours around tonight for the first of our film nights. I have a healthy DVD library (around 300 films) so we said we'd do this weekly to see us over the autumn/winter which can be a bit tedious. Problem is picking something they'll both like as they are chalk and cheese compared to Cal and I who both liked the same things pretty much.
I'm giving them a choice of 4 tonight, all historic ones that I don't think they've seen. Arn Knight Templar, Kingdom of Heaven, Last of the Mohicans and Gangs of New York. Got the beers and popcorn ready;)

We stumbled upon a TV series Bulletproof -a comedy cop series ,we are starting the third series later. Quite refreshingly different although how they can shoot 8/10 in the target and then miss almost every shot in a chase beats me.
Being married to a Finn we have some special discussions ,today's was what is the difference between soaking wet drenched and wringing wet ?
Brilliant series Blue. One of my favourite in recent times. There was a 4th series planned but Noel Clarke, one of the main characters, had some sexual misconduct allegations made against him and the series was dropped.

I do eat early as I goto bed early, you probably notice I'm not on much at night. Last of the mohicans, not seen that for ages, Daniel day Lewis played the part well.

I just will say @roydo and freddo the love you had in your respective relationships shines through, even in written form.

Afternoon everyone ,

Thanks to all , especially @Barnfred 55 , @anjelikaferrett , @Terrarian and @blue1948 for their messages and expressions of concern.

I've got a few issues on a present , some medical some not , which mean that I don't feel particularly sociable at the moment and able to participate in the usual badanage and nonsense that we all enjoy on here.

I'm sure , touch wood, that I will be tickety boo again in the near future and look forward to rejoining you properly then.

Best wishes to everyone!
So sorry it’s not going so well at the moment. Hope things pick up soon. Best wishes.?

My word you were lucky to have a relationship so good Fred ,sad it ended but so many will never know what you and @roydo have had ,they will never have a day of it . I have said before that you need to grieve and that will last forever ,I believe it just doesn't go ,like the memories .
