In the reverse fixture in November, Everton registered their first away win of the season with goals from Tom Davies and Richarlison, the latter earning the win after Saints had levelled. Everton controlled the first half, but a set piece let the home side back in before the Brazilian sent the travelling fans in raptures with a consummate winner.

Everton are undefeated in their last 14 home matches against Southampton in all competitions.

There have been 102 meetings between Everton and Southampton in all competitions since 1899 – 49 Everton wins, 23 draws, and 30 Southampton wins.

Theo Walcott returns, but Mason Holgate has been ruled out to join Fabian Delph on the sidelines.

Southampton winger Moussa Djenepo is out with a calf injury and joins Jannik Vestergaard, Sofiane Boufal and Yan Valery on the sidelines.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is included in the squad after a two-game absence.

Lighthouse: “If there’s one stadium we’re less likely to win at than St Mary’s, then it’s Goodison. Still, you‘d like to think we’ve got a bit of confidence and belief now. Let’s keep Che and Ings together and see if they can form a decent partnership.”

S-Clarke: “Everton away, we never win there. But this is a weird season, so who knows.”

GarrettIvo: “Everton are absolute trash. Watch them cruise through us. 3-0 Toffees.”
