September GOT Player of the Month

We’re now two months into the 18/19 campaign ans as with August, our beloved Blues competed in just four games. A thoroughly miserable and tawdry draw against Huddersfield was sadly followed by a listless home reversal to the previously pointless West Ham.

The Blues then went to the Emirates and had much the better of the game before succumbing to a fine finish from Lacazette and a shamefully missed offside ‘goal’ from Aubameyang.

But in the third successive game against London opposition, the Blues got back to winning ways sweeping Fulham aside with a fine second half showing, and this despite a penalty miss.

Nineteen players saw action through September with seven appearing in all four games – Jordan Pickford, Kurt Zouma Gylfi Sigurdsson, Theo Walcott, Lucas Digne, Cenk Tosun and Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

The GOT forum membership voted for four different Man of the Match winners – Kurt Zouma vs Huddersfield, Lucas Digne vs West Ham, Idrissa Gana Gueye vs Arsenal and Gylfi Sigurdsson in the win over Fulham.

Not surprisingly, the highest number of votes was cast for the Fulham game with the least for the loss to West Ham.

As with last season, we intend to continue posting match reports, managers quotes and MotM polls as quickly as possible after each game, and we encourage all our forum members and readers to vote.

MotM poll voting will be open until the morning of the next game or for seven days, dependant upon international breaks and our progress in the domestic cup competitions that inevitably will condense the game day diary somewhat.

With October now upon us, it gives us great pleasure to announce the result for September that saw only 17 votes separate our top three…

In third place was Kurt Zouma…

In second place for the second consecutive month was Gylfi Sigurdsson…

and the congratulations go to, with just over 20% of the total votes cast, and the GOT Player of the Month for September…

Lucas Digne.
