Lucas Digne’s long-awaited transfer to Everton is imminent after Barcelona confirmed the full-back has been granted permission to leave their preseason tour to ‘finalise his departure from the club’.
Digne will provide much needed competition for an aging Leighton Baines on the left hand side of the Toffees’ defence.
The fee is thought to be somewhere around the £15 million mark.
The France international will become Marco Silva’s second signing when he eventually puts pen to paper.
The 25-year-old was a teammate of Idrissa Gueye at LOSC Lille before he left for Paris Saint Germain, a brief stop at AS Roma followed before his big move to Spanish giants Barcelona.
Digne played 46 times in two years at the Nou Camp despite being mostly second fiddle to mainstay left-back, Jordi Alba.
