Werder Bremen are in talks with Everton over the prospective signing of Davy Klaassen.
According to Bild, Bremen believe the German league is more suited to the Dutchman’s qualities and various report fee of around £13m will be enough after a period of ‘tough’ negotiations between the two sides.
Big things were expected of Klaassen when he arrived at the Blues from Ajax last summer for a fee around £24 million, but his time at Goodison has been nothing short of a nightmare.
The Dutchman made just 16 appearances in all competitions in his debut campaign at Everton, and was banished from first team duties for the majority of the season.
He was withdrawn early in the second half against Bournemouth and didn’t have a sniff of Premier League action until the campaign spiralled to an unsatisfying end, where he came off the bench three times in the Toffees’ final nine fixtures.
