Arsenal v Everton

So here it is, the end of the Premier League season, it only felt like yesterday the Blues kicked off their 2016/17 campaign with an encouraging draw with Spurs.

In what has been an inspiring first season with Ronald Koeman at the helm here’s to hoping it only gets better from this point on.

With our own fate already secured, it’s that of the Champions League places Everton will have a big say in now.

If this is to be Arsene Wenger’s last league game in charge of the Gunners, then the players will want to send him out with a bang.

A place in Europe’s most elite competition is on the line, it is not in their hands, they need our lovable neighbours to not get maximum points against already relegated Middlesbrough whilst dispatching the Toffeemen at the same time come this Sunday.

Influential defender Laurent Koscielny could return for the clash in North London whilst England international Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is definitely out.
Aaron Ramsey will be checked before the game.

Ones to watch

Alexis Sanchez is leading the goal contribution charts this term and after already putting the ball in the back of the Blues’ net back in December, the Chilean is certainly one to be wary of.

Say what you like about Mesut Özil but the man has true game deciding quality. It’ll only take a split second for the German to find a killer pass if given the space.

Olivier Giroud is a menace in the box, on his day he looks truly class, off his day you wonder why he’s a footballer. But special care in the air will have to be taken if the big man is selected.

Onto what we’re all here for.

Since qualification to the Europa League there’s been a very lackadaisical feel around the club.

A score line that flattered opponents Watford last time out was more encouraging, though.

Everton’s squad is exactly the same as last week, so no changes there. Hopefully Mo Besic at least gets some minutes in this one.

Will the Blues end their promising campaign on a high?

Or will a wait for a first Everton win at the Emirates continue?

Who knows, all we can do now is leave it to the boys in royal blue.
