Reports this morning in the Guardian indicate that Ronald Koeman has had a £10 million deal for Swansea and Wales captain Ashley Williams agreed in principle by Swansea City.
The 31 year old centre half has enjoyed an excellent eight year spell at the Liberty Stadium, joining the Swans from Stockport County for just £300,000 as they won the League One title under former Blues boss Roberto Martinez. His stock has never been higher following Wales’ eye catching performances in the European Championships this summer and Koeman clearly sees Williams as the perfect addition to his back line.
A natural leader and powerful in the air, Williams will clearly offer a more physical option for Everton; something lacking for the previous three seasons.
