Everton has had a £10m bid rejected for Swansea City defender Ashley Williams.
Earlier reports claimed the Wales and Swans captain was reported to be close to agreeing a move to Everton, but Swansea City have confirmed that they have turned down the current offer.
A club spokesman said: “We are not looking to sell him and therefore we have turned down the offer currently on the table.”
Williams who had an impressive campaign last season and an even more impressive European championship caught the eye of everyone after his historic performance against Belgium where the telegraph described him as “The leader and rock at the heart of this Welsh team’s defence.” He has proven time and time again his importance to Swansea so it’s no surprise they don’t want to sell him currently, especially with an attacking talent flooding into the premier league.
