Lukaku Could Light Up Euro 2016 With Barkley and Stones Set For Small Roles

Euro 2016 is now just days away and it could be a big tournament for some key Everton players. According to the bookies it is Romelu Lukaku who is expected to have the biggest impact. The Belgian is one of the favourites in the Top Scorer betting at 20/1 although one bookie seriously rates his chances as he is as short as 12/1. OLBG.com takes a look at the best value Euro 2016 tips for the top goal scorer markets.

Lukaku’s goalscoring form tailed off towards the end of the season but he’ll be keen to either impress incoming manager Ronald Koeman or perhaps other managers as his Goodison Park future is far from guaranteed. Either way fans will be hoping for a good tournament for Lukaku as he’ll either return to Everton in good form or he’ll command a higher fee when moving clubs.

Ross Barkley is far from guaranteed a starting place for England after the emergence of Dele Alli this season and that seems to be the reason why bookies aren’t even offering a price on Barkley in the top scorer betting. There are odds though on long term Everton target Andriy Yarmolenko who is generally a 100/1 chance.

You can get a bet on Barkley and Stones to be England’s top scorer at Euro 2016 though. Harry Kane currently heads the betting at 2/1 ahead of Wayne Rooney at 4/1. Barkley is available at 25/1 which might not have been a bad bet if he’d looked more likely to start whilst John Stones is a whopping 150/1. It may seem unlikely but at the 2010 World Cup, when England only scored 3 goals, Matthew Upson ended up as joint top scorer for England with one goal alongside Jermain Defoe and Steven Gerrard.

If looking for a bet on England the stage of elimination market might offer the best value. Should England win the group their route to the final would most likely be Romania, then Italy or Portugal, then Spain, then Germany or France. That should mean England are most likely to be eliminated in the semi final and that option is priced up at a tempting looking 11/2.
