Roberto Martinez has this morning downplayed reports claiming Everton were set to offer a contract to former Aston Villa defender and free agent Ron Vlaar.
The 30-year-old was a key player during his time at Villa Park, but has been without a club since leaving at the end of last season.
Martinez: “[Ron Vlaar] has experience in the Premier League. He is unattached, but there has been no discussions and nothing to comment on.”
