No Lille response

Everton have received no response from authorities in Lille to the security issues that arose during the Europa League game in October 2014.

A letter highlighting the Club’s concerns over the way supporters were treated by authorities in the French city in the days surrounding the side’s Europa League encounter with LOSC Lille, was sent to a selection of senior bodies in this country, France and Switzerland in November.

The letter was penned by Goodison officials following lengthy consultation with fan groups in the wake of the match.

Two months on and the Club confirmed that they had not received a response to that letter from the Prefecture of Lille.

Officials from UEFA’s security department did respond, confirming they will utilise the information provided by the club ahead of preparations for Euro 2016 in France, whilst the letter was positively received by the FA’s security unit who were keen to be made aware of any formal response from officials in Lille.

The UK Football Policing Unit were also keen to be kept aware of any response, specifically with a view to planning for Euro 2016.
