Naismith’s “50-50 chance”

Roberto Martinez reckons Steven Naismith has a “50-50 chance” of being ready for the weekend’s trip to Tottenham Hotspur.

Naismith was stretchered off after picking up an injury against West Ham on Saturday, but Martinez has assured fans its not a long-term doubt.

Martinez: “We have confirmed Steven has a soft tissue injury.

“It was just from the fatigue which came late in the game – I don’t think it is a serious problem.

“Obviously, he is not going to be involved (against Wolfsburg) and I would say he is 50-50 for the weekend. But, if he isn’t going to be fit for Sunday, I’d expect him to be fit for the next game after that.”
