Everton´s Champions League dream still alive after victory over Sunderland.

Many fans would not have believed Roberto Martinez, some may have even laughed on 6 June last year when he said he would get Everton into the Champions League.

Now ten months later look where we are – currently sitting in fourth place, two points above Arsenal having played the same number of games.

I think not just Everton fans but everyone would agree that we´ve got the harder run in with still Manchester United and Manchester City to play. But personally, I think we have an advantage playing these games at Goodison Park.

We´ve seen all season and particularly last week, what we can do when Goodison is rocking. It needs to be exactly the same during the last three home games. Even Juan Mata admitted that Everton can be dangerous especially playing at home.

Although we all can´t wait to face United on Sunday, we need to focus on Wednesday night and the visit of Crystal Palace. They aren´t going to be push overs but there´s nothing better than a mid-week night game under the floodlights at Goodison and the atmosphere is surely going to be just as electric as it was against Arsenal – if not better.

I personally think that fourth spot is in our own hands now and its ours to loose. With seven wins on the bounce – a new club record, confidence is high and we´ve found momentum. We need to keep going and keep winning.

We do have a more difficult run in than rivals for the spot, Arsenal but we should know by now that anything is possible under Roberto Martinez.

There´s no reason why we can´t be in the Champions League next season… Roberto´s dream is back on!
