Crystal Palace 0-0 Everton

Everton endured a frustrating 0-0 draw at Crystal Palace, their fourth 0-0 stalemate of the season.

Everton could have climbed into the top four with a win and started Romelu Lukaku up front, but the Belgian failed to find the net and Everton´s best chance to win the game fell to Phil Jagielka who rattled the crossbar with an effort late on.

Everton made all the early running but were not able to make a breakthrough and Palace gradually worked their way back into the game.

Dikgacoi could have given Palace the lead but made a mess of his free header after good work by Thomas.

Everton keeper Tim Howard was forced into a good save from a Thomas free kick in the 38th minute and moments later Chamakh was unable to turn in a Barry Bannan cross, heading wide from right in front.

After the break Thomas again found himself one-on-one with the American stopper but chipped over the bar.

Everton sensed an opportunity to win the game late and Jagielka was unlucky to see his header cannon back off the crossbar from a Leighton Baines corner to ensure the game would finish scoreless.
