Everton 0-0 West Brom

Everton were held to a frustrating and disappointing goalless draw by West Brom at Goodison Park in Roberto Martinez´s first home game in charge.

West Brom goalkeeper Ben Foster pulled off a string of impressive saves, with Marouane Fellaini coming closest to opening the scoring with an effort struck against the post, while Seamus Coleman also hit the crossbar late on.

Everton dominated possession throughout, carving out the first opportunity on six minutes when Kevin Mirallas found Steven Pienaar, who´s header was saved well by Ben Foster.

Pienaar tested Foster again shortly after with a low shot, and Ross Barkley drove an effort just wide of Ben Fosters goal not long after.

It looked as though Marouane Fellaini would finally break the deadlock when he was played in by Phil Jagielka, but his shot came agonisingly off the woodwork in a moment which summed up a frustrating day for Everton.
