Sylvain Distin has confirmed via his twitter account that Caen´s 17-year-old wonderkid M´baye Niang is at Finch Farm.
Distin: “He [Niang] seems like a good player but one training session isn´t enough to judge” (Source)
Tipped as the next big thing in French football, Niang is a strong, physical striker with a burst of pace. He has courted the interest of Spurs, Man City, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Arsenal and AC Milan to name just a few.
Whilst a move to Everton may sound dubious when announced in such company, it is believed that Everton have stolen a march on their rivals by directly inviting the youngster to Finch Farm for several days with an intention to secure a £5m deal.
Arsenal have already had a £5m offer for the 17 year-old turned down but reports suggest Everton will have success by negotiating different payment terms, with a larger amount paid up front.
