Gary Ablett, a former Everton player and academy coach, passed away peacefully last night aged just 46, following a hard fought 16 month battle against non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
Ablett began his career at Liverpool in 1985 before signing for Everton in 1992. Gary went on to make over 120 appearences for Everton, being involved in the 1995 FA Cup winning side, becoming the only player to win the competition with both Merseyside teams
