Barkley Sticks With Toffees

Everton prodigy Ross Barkley has penned his first long-term professional contract with Everton, signing on the dotted line to stay with the Blues until 2016.

The midfielder is expected to have a phenomenal future in the game with natural ability in abundance, and Everton have moved to secure this talent before the rumoured interest from Europes elite materialised into firm offers.

Everton chairman Bill Kenwright was delighted to see the youngster commit his immediate future at Goodison Park.

“We are pleased but obviously not at all surprised that Ross has agreed his first long-term contract with the club. Ross has recently talked of his commitment to Everton and his growth under the very special guidance of David Moyes, his staff and indeed our senior players. That combination of expertise can only be of benefit to any young footballer.”

It caps a fantastic two days for Evertonians after seeing former Goodison favourite Landon Donovan confirm his return to Goodison on loan next month.
